Delaware Board
Hey guys, I am trying this again. First my computer was broken and then I got so busy working and doing things with the kids. I need a break and really , really need to spend some time with adults. I think I was losing it for awhile myself. I was catching up on the boards today and read several post from Judy and Rob. I want you both to know you are so inspirational to me and others. I love reading lets get this board going one post at a time. That is really all it takes. So I will ask all again to post, post and repost. I will try to post often myself. Who will join me ? See you lighter. Joanne
Happy to post my two little "wow" moments:
First time was on Saturday night. I went on a Ghost Tour in Old New Castle with a few of my friends. While walking around I made sure I drank water (it was HOT AND HUMID out there...wow!). Anyway, we walked for about an hour (and maybe a maximum of 1.5 - 2 miles) My wow moment came when we got back in the car to go home. I realized that I had walked for that period of time and WASN'T tired and DIDN'T hurt anywhere. I hadn't huffed or puffed ONCE during the entire tour. Plus, I was able to chat and walk at the SAME TIME (which, in the past, had never, ever occurred!) At one point, while walking up steps to the cemetery, one of the other women on the tour (who happened to be fairly heavy) was groaning that her knees hurt while going up the steps, saying that "getting old" was the cause of her knee pain. I outwardly agreed with her about the "getting old - ache and pain" thing, but in my mind I knew (and I'm pretty sure she did too) that it was her extra poundage that was the cause. I was so thankful that I have this wonderful tool of WLS to help me get back into shape and good health.
The other "wow" moment came this morning, when I got on the scale. I have finally reached the 50 POUND loss mark!!!! Lovin' life!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm embarassed to say that I have been one of those "stalkers" who never posts. I need to change that. The Delaware board needs to be brought back to life. Thank you Joanne, Judy, Rob and all the folks who have been posting. I had my surgery in Oct. 2004 and found the board to be very informative to the newbies. Now the "old timers" need to be there for the newbies and rejuvinate the DE Board. I'm going to make a commitment to participate. I've missed coming to the meetings. Need to get myself back on track again. Seems like we just allow "LIFE" to get in the way of our own needs.
Congrats to you Nina and Joe on your journey to a healthy life you will enjoy participating in.
