Good afternoon from Lower Slower Delaware ! not much happening. Went to work , put a roast in the crock pot for dinner with onions and carrots. Had a turkey and pickle sandwich for lunch. I have a mock test tonight so we will eat a late dinner. Going out to the deck to relax with a glass of diet ice tea. No coffee today yet.  Today is Robert's Birthday. He is 11 today. Alexus and Robert will both be 11 until May 5th. She hates that.  Hope all has had a good day and made wise choices. See you lighter. Joanne

Hi Joanne,

Not much new going on here, either.  Quiet day at work which is good and bad - means nothing went wrong but can also make for a long day.  Spent a lot of the day surfing the web looking for a dog.  I think we are going to adopt/rescue an older dog.  I do not want a puppy and all of the issues that they bring.  Looking at getting some kind of beagle/hound dog.  I have a couple of companies coming out tomorrow to give me estimates on installing an invisible fence.  After talking to one of the repos on the phone it looks like I may be doing it myself.

Went to Trader Joe's at lunch and bought some dough and toppings to make pizza.  I got whole wheat dough so I won't feel quite as bad eating it.  I am cooking some chicken now to slice up and put on the pizza so I can get my protein.  There was an article in the News Journal a copy weeks ago about Mario Batali and his recipe for pizza.  He parcooks the pizza crust in a cast iron skillet and then tops the pizza and finishes cooking it under the broiler.  I am going to give that a try.  I'll report back how that works out.

Have a great night everyone!

Mike

The pizza was meh.  I thought it was better than the rest of the family, but I will eat just about anything.  My daughter told me to stick to DiGiorno's.  No problem there!

Mike, Sounds like your daughter has good taste. My grandkids love DiGiorno's too. As long as you liked it, there was no waste.  Let us know of your next cooking adventure. See you lighter. Joanne

Hey Guys!
Glad to see some movement on the boards.  We went to the YMCA last night and exercised for an hour.  Ugg, just not my cup of tea, but I got my daughter and son to go with me while my husband did the deep water exercises.  I see my daughter heading down the same obese path I took.  I try to help her make better food choices and get up and MOVE!
Dinner was a roast, mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables.
Have a good one
Judy

Judy , As being an obese kid myself, I wish someone would of incouraged me to make better choices. I came from a family of farm house cookers where all were obese. My grandaughter is 12 and struggles daily. Most days she makes good choices but once in awhile she goes on a beinge.  Her brother is very thin and can eat anything. He is into wrestling and wants to put on weight. He weighs himself alot. If he only knew our struggles. BE PROUD THAT YOU INCOURAGE HER ! You are a good Mom! See you lighter. Joanne

Welcome back to the boards, JoAnne,

Today was a long day.  Looking forward to hitting the sack.  Great run tonight down by the library.  Got in about 6 miles.  Need to start tapering on Thursday so I can hit the Philadelphia Broad Street Run on Sunday.  Made a great dinner with marinated pork and wheat pasta.  Have a good one.
