Dr. Adeleke

 Hi All,

I had my consult with Dr. Adeleke this afternoon.  I was given an EKG and then Dr. Adeleke came in to go over my health history.  What a nice man.   He was very thorough with all the health questions.  I'll be having a chemical stress test next Tuesday.  Dr. Adeleke told me that I'm a great candidate for WLS and if all is clear with the stress test, he'll send the clearance.

I was told, by many of you on this site who are patients of his, to bring a book to read while waiting to see him because he tends to run quite behind due to his thoroughness and attention to each patient.  My appointment time was 1 p.m. and expected to be waiting for at least a couple of hours before I finally got into the exam room. I brought my book and was pleasantly surprised because I only had to wait about 40 minute before I was called into the exam room.  I was out of his office by 2:40.  (still a little long, but nothing like I expected).  Musta been a slow day in his office.

Glad you liked him and got a good report.  I love him and he is so super supportive of  WLS. $0 minutes is a slow day.  Lucky you :)

Hi Nina,
I'm glad you liked him. I have a new respect for the amount of time Dr. Adeleke takes with each patient because he did the same with me. Even when I broke down in his office he comforted me, and then after surgery when I was out taking a walk, here he comes down the hallway and gave me a hug.

He came to the hospital both days I was in the hospital and met my son and husband.

I think I have a secret crush....lol (just kidding).

Oh and I keep pronouncing his name wrong and he told the nurse to let me know I was calling him addalecke and it's pronounced the way it's spelled.

Nina, Sounds like you are halfway there.  I know you have been anxious about the Cardio visit. Changing Dr's was not an easy decision. Having positive people around you will certainly make your life easier. Have you seen the Pulminary Dr yet? He might want a sleep study done to see if you have sleep apnea. How far along the life skills class are you? At focused and you'll be on the Looser's bench before you know it.  ((HUGS)) Elissa

Hi  Elissa.
Yup, already saw the Puminologist,  who, after and he and I went over what seemed like a zillion questions, decided that I didn't need a sleep study and gave me clearance.    So now I have clearances from the Gastro and Pulminary guys, plus the Psychologist. I only have ONE MORE to go and that's the Cardiologist.     I have the stress test on Tuesday and I'm 100% positive that will go smoothly and I'll be on my way to a surgery date.   Very very EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!
