1 year out!!
I can't believe it...Happy Bandiversary to me! I am now one year (and one day) post-op!! Yippee! What a year it has been!
Healthwise, I have lost 85+ pounds (I have gained back a few from my 90 pound loss). I am working hard on getting them off, and then some, as I want to lose 100 pounds total by my birthday, May 26th. I have been walking (rain, cold, or sun) at least 4 times a week for 30 minutes, and just started a deep water workout/aerobics class this week. I still use a CPAP machine, but hope to be off of it soon. Things are improving for sure.
I've also had some other "life cir****tances" that occurred at the end of last year and the beginning of this one, and although tears and struggling were involved, I have come through it stronger, thanks in part to my new mindset, higher level of confidence, and increased energy and optimism...all due to my LapBand. Life is not always easy, but I know I can get through any tough times with help from my family, my friends, and of course my faith in God.
And, I also graduated from the Univ. of Delaware with a Master's Degree last May, so 2008 was a huge year of change, and it looks like 2009 will continue the same way. That's a good thing, right?
I just want to say thanks to the new friends I've found through OH, and my new friends and leaders (for all of your hard work and prep time) at all of the support groups I attend, and to Dr, Peters and the folks at CHRIAS, the staff at PMRI, and my other "team members" for your patience, help, and support. It's so good to know that there's always someone there ready to help.
Here's to another exciting year! Maybe I'll be brave enough to try a roller coaster this summer!
Hope all is going well with you all, too.
Take care,
Leslie
Thanks for your congratulations! I can't believe how different I feel one year out!
Last week was very busy, so I opted to not go to Victory. I'll probably be there next month, though.
Hope all is well with you and you have not had any problems; I'm sure the weight is just sliding off! Keep up the good work!
Bye for now,
Leslie
Speaking of accomplishments, look at you! Woo-hoo! You look terrific, and I'm sure you are feeling great. Hope work isn't working you too hard (no pun intended, I think!), and that you are doing well with school! You have your plate full, for sure!
Thanks for the congrats! I am very surprised and pleased, if I must say so myself!
Take care and see you soon!
Leslie
Yes, you're right, I HAVE come a long way! But I have a long way to go, too. Thanks for your kind words. I hope by summer to have a few more pounds off, and then I will be confident enough to try the roller coaster!
Hope things are going well with you & Debbie, etc. It sounds like you had a great time in Niagra Falls. What a fun trip that must have been! That's somewhere I have always wanted to go, and hope to within the next few years. I'll probably go on a bus trip.
I know you are busy between your upcoming surgery and Debbie's. I hope they go well for the both of you...you all deserve the very best!
Here's to a new year! Cheers!
Talk to you soon,
Leslie
