i have been using a timer for 30 minutes prior/after eating for drinking.  i am writing food details.  bumped up my protein and lowered other items.
i do have questions.
we are trying to find out if i have gallbladder and/or band slippage.  i have orders for HIDA scan for gall stones.   anyone have this?
how about GASTROGRAFIN SWALLOW to eval band slippage/pouch dilatation?  where was yours done?  i called diagnostic imaging.  they said they dont it.
(i googled it: A Gastrografin Swallow shows an outline of the oesophagus and stomach on a plain X-Ray, using Gastrografin as a contrast medium which is swallowed by the patient. It may show irregularities of the usual smooth outline, caused by strictures (narrowing) or ulceration – damage to the mucosa (lining) of the oesophagus. It differs from a Barium Swallow in that the contrast material is water soluble and less irritating to body tissues if there is a leak from the oesophagus – known as a perforation.)
if liquids are not to be eaten w solids, in theory, what about cereal?  you have milk on cereal???
ok. i would like to go to A Piece of Ireland for Patty's day.  have u seen their menu?  any menu suggestions?  http://apieceofireland-newark.com/3.html link to their menu.
if i have a 10cc band.  it is at 4cc if i understood correct.  following the timer, eat at 2-3 hr intervals, i am hungry as in grumble grumble.  i am guessing i need a fill.
after all this time, there are things i dont know and obviously need to understand.
thanks for the input, patience and understanding.

Gosh I hope they figure out which item is the problem for you....its got to be horrible having your stomach bother you.  I usually wait one hour before eating and drinking.  Its a habit I got into.

I had my gallbladder out at the time of my RNY.  I wasn't sure if I would make it that long....I had problems in January 2004 pain was bad....never knew what kicked it up and was very thankful when it went away.  They can do a ultrasound on you to see if you have stones.  That is how I found out it was gallbladder.

The cereal concept is an interesting one....I don't do milk well so I don't do it.  But I do eat soup and that is the same thing.  LOL.  What happens with fluid and food is it makes it easier to pass through your band so you can eat a lot more than you should.  So what I would do is try and stay with solids when possible.  Measure out your foods, it will help you to make sure you aren't moving the band around because it has to adjust to what you are putting in on that sitting.

I eat about 6 servings a day....so from the time I get up until bed time I am chewing on some type of protein first....then fruits and veggies.  Although I find lately I miss veggies alot so I have been eating more of them then protein.  I wonder if there is another deficiency going on with me.

Life is too short to eat lousy food!
