Wednesday Roll Call

Good Morning Delaware,

Well today is the last day of 2008.  I can't believe all the changes in my life this past year.  I never in a million years would have thought that I would leave a company that I was employed with for 22 years, move to the Eastern Shore of MD and be unemployed for alnost 3 months or that I would gain back 20lbs.  The last one is the one that bothers me the most, so I am going to do the 5 Day Pouch Test starting on Saturday, January 3rd.  If anyone wants to join me please do, if you want to follow along with my progress I will be blogging on my OH page the progress, the struggles and the results. 

What are your plans for this New Year's Eve?  Mine are to just stuggle on the couch with Doug and eat some seafood, other then that nothing exciting.  My days of going out and partying in the new year are history.  Anyone making any New Year's resolutions?  I am not, I am just going to go back to eating the way I should and take better care of myself.

I do have a job interview on Friday with a company in Cambridge, MD as a customer service rep, so hopefully something will come of that.

Deana, First of all ! How far is cambridge Maryland from Millsboro , Delaware ? I want to check out a support group there. Girl ! I am with you for getting back on track. I went to the Dr. yesterday and he asked me if I was eating my sarrows away. What could i say  when i had gained weight in the last 6 months.  I put off alot dealing with Bob's illness. Ate wrong and kinda put myself last.  It is time for me to take care of me . Everything was so off wack that he forgot I was there for him to check my ankle. I go to see the surgeon in February and we will start dealing with my stretched stoma problem then. There is alot I can do for myself before then. Like get back to basics, Do vitamins and meds regularly, get in more water, and get back to the gym.  No Excuses !!! I accept my faults and it is time to move past it. I really feel like I am drowning. I need to save myself  !  I hope all goes well with your interveiw and getting back on track. If I do anything tonight, it will be go to church. They have a game night and church service at midnight.  It depends on transpertation. My car is being fixed and I hate depending on others. See you lighter. Joanne

Hi Joanne,  Millsboro from Cambridge is probably about an hour to an 1.15 hours away.   I am not sure, but when I saw an ad in the Guide today for Millsboro Heating & AC needed a customer service person also Doug told me it would take me almost an hour to get there, so it would probably be an additional 20 minutes or so to get to Cambridge.  I miss the support group meeting, it is hard for me to get to them though because of no money for gas and not knowing the area that well.  Doug did give me a GPS for Christmas so I can find my way around here better, so that should make it easier.  Are they still having the meetings in Laurel?  That isn't that far from me, so I could do that one if it was on a night that I didn't have something else planned. 

I am going to Wilmington on Friday to Dr. Wynn's office so I can get the rest of the protein drinks that I need.  I really want to make the best of the 5 day pouch test and really want to get back to the basics.  It is so easy to get off track and so hard to get back on track, even when we know what we have to do.  You and I both know what we need to do, it is just doing it.  Prayer works with that one though and I know with prayer I will do this and succeed.  That is how I decided to have this surgery anyway.

Deana, They do not have the Laurel meeting anymore. Is Cambridge far from you ? That is the only one I know in Maryland. Check the OH board in Maryland for support groups. I am starting our Christian Weightloss support group back at the Church Monday night. This will help me alot. We do the First Place Program. It is really good. You can get their books at any christian store. They are workbooks with music too. You would  Love this program. All Bible based. We stopped When Bob got ill because I could not run the group due to his medical needs. It is now time for me to do the right thing for myself and get back to all my groups. You know how I love them. Hi Joanne, Cambridge is not that far from me, about 20 minutes, I know there is one in Easton also which is about 45 minutes away.  The one in Easton usually meets at a Denny's but I can't remember which night of the week/month.  I am really busy in the evenings with church meetings/bible studies, so it is hard to get out for the meetings.  I will look into the Frist Place Program, that sounds like it is awesome.

It is hard to believe its almost 2009!!
