Tuesday Roll Call
Good Morning Delaware ! It is another brisk day in Lower Slower Delaware ! What is everyone up to these days ? Yesterday was my Birthday. It was a very sad day for me . It was the 1st day in the house alone since Bob's Passing. I did manage to get my Thank You Cards done. Today I am having lunch at one of my WLS friend's house, going to the post office and puting up some post for our Thanksgiving Dinner at the church. I am also going to a couple of neighbor's house to invite them to the dinner. No one should eat Thanksgiving Dinner alone. If you know anyone invite them to your house or if they are in Lower Slower Delaware invite them to join us at The Community Church of Oak Orchard for a fine Thanksgiving feast. Hope all has a blessed day and it saving all that energy for Black friday Shopping. I am skipping it this year and going back to work that day. See you lighter. Joanne
Hi Joanne,
Hope you are your family are doing well. Happy birthday to ya! I agree with you about not eating Thanksgiving alone. My family is going to my sisters and her son asked could he bring a co-worker to Dinner because her family doesn't celebrate the holiday. I thought that was very sweet of him (he's 17 yo)
I don't do black friday also. I'd be arrested the first time someone snatched something out of my hands!
Have a great Thanksgiving!
Judy

Hi Joanne,
Happy Belated Birthday! I hope this year brings you lots of happiness and good health.
I'm sure it's hard at times to get used to being without Bob, and I can see where you would be sad on your special day. I would be too. But it sounds you are keeping busy, which I'm sure helps to some degree. And having your family and friends around is really important, too. I think you are doing great considering the cir****tances. I admire your strength and courage!
I hope you & your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!
Talk to you soon,
Leslie

Good Morning Joanne and Everyone,
Tuesday started out rainy and around 52 degrees but ended up at 38 by dinner time. Yikes. I spent the day doing some of my preliminary Thanksgiving dinner stuff; made potato salad, macaroni salad, cooked the eggs for my famous deviled eggs, and took the fresh pumpkin filling out of the freezer. Wednesday I will make a pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting, do the deviled eggs, get my holiday dishes out of the shed and wash them up, and take the rest of my food out of the freezer. I bought pies this year because every time I try to make one from scratch, they don't turn out. I'm no baker I guess.
Good news...I found a job! Or rather, a job found ME. This sounds silly but you know those emails we all get that say, "read this prayer and send it to a certain number of friends...etc etc...and something great will happen the next day.."?? Well, I did some Dali Lama thing on Monday, and I got a phone call on Tuesday. Last week, Ed and I took Alex and his girlriend for a "date" and while the 2 were seeing a movie, he and I went to the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk to enjoy the surf. On a whim, I decided to stop in and fill out an application at the restaurant "Victoria's." The manager called while we were on our camping trip, but called me again Tuesday. It looks like he's going to hire me. I am so pumped!. The only bad thing is I have to tell Mark I found year round work that will pay me $3 more an hour. I am the only experienced cook he has so I think he will be pretty upset, but he knows I have been looking for more substantial employment. I hope he can find someone that can do a good job for him. I have to take this job and hope he understands that.
Ed is still looking for work but is pretty sick with bronchitis right now. He sounds awful. I might go to Elkton Wednesday with Sarah to pick up her hubby and the 2 babies for Thanksgiving. They've been staying there with his uncle because I just can't support them all. Sarah and Karissa have been here with us so she can stay at her job and Kay-Kay can stay in school. I hope my son-in-law can find work too. Like Joanne, we have put the offer out there for any "strays" to have dinner with us if they have nowhere else to go. There's always plenty here.
Here's to a fine Thanksgiving Holiday to all, and God Bless.
