Thursday Roll Call
Good Morning Delaware ! It is a nice day in Lower Slower Delaware ! This morning has been very busy. First thing this morning I get a call from Bob's twin sister who has a mental disorder. She is crying on the phone. She always blows everything up more then it really is. I am trying to calm her down, get 2 kids up for school and Bob yelling for me. Everyone wants a piece of my time ! Remember that song ? Ok all is calm now. Kids made it to the bus on time, she is calm and Bob's needs are meet. He has been bathed, feed and given meds. He is now watching Matlock on TV. He is o****il he notices I am not in the room. Hospice has been called about the aide not coming. . I still have alot to do before he misses me. What should I cook for dinner? What can be done in the crock pot for today ? What are you guys cooking today ? Enjoy the weather before the rain comes. Where are the lurkers? Nice to see new people posting. See all lighter. Joanne
Sounds like you had a busy morning!
I'm working - ugh! Right now, I'm monitoring a study hall, so I have a moment to check the computer. Luckily, this afternoon promises to be fun. After my faculty meeting, I'm meeting a friend for coffee at Starbuck's. Dinner tonight is going to be tasty - London Broil on the grill, caulflower in cheese sauce (from scratch, thank you very much), roasted onion potatoes, and salad.
I've got a ton of laundry to fold tonight, plus a ton of papers to grade. Sheesh! Take a couple of weekends off, and everything piles up!!
It was nice to see you at the Philly OH event! Maybe they'll have another one around here soon.

Bronwen, It was really nice to see you too. I don't think there will be an event here until next year. We were lucky this year to get 2 close by this year. Good for you ! Cooking from scratch ? Oh my you are good ! Enjoy your day and dinner. If it can be made in the crock pot it is my kind of dinner. Hope you get caught up soon. See you lighter. Joanne
Hi everyone!
Hope all is well with you all. I am glad it is nearing the end of the week.
Joanne, I wish you and your family strength and peace in this trying time. I'm sure it is very difficult in many ways. I know your faith will keep you strong and positive, though. Just do your best and try to be strong. I will keep you in my prayers and thoughts. It's great to see your lapband buddies rally round to help...what a great idea about the Boy Scouts doing your yard work! Wow! What great friends!
Things are OK with me. Got a fill today with Dr. Irgau...Dr. Peters is away, and this was the first time I met Dr. Irgau face to face (he returned an emergency phone call after surgery). He seemed very nice, and very knowledgable, as all of the doctors at CHRIAS are. So today I have been on liquids, and tomorrow I get to have my pureeds foods. Scrambled egges, cottage cheese, applesauce, etc. are on my menu. Yum yum! Actually, it sounds really good. I now have 5cc's in my band after 4 fills.
I am headed for a relaxing vacation in Florida next week, and I'm starting to get excited! I haven't been away for a few years, except for a few times at the Jersey shore. I'll have my computer with me, though, so I will be checking in (that is, lurking!) as usual. I just hope the hurricanes stay away! And I'm anxious to see if I fit on a plane seat! Wish me luck with that, OK?
That's it for now...
Enjoy the rest of your Thursday, and have a wonderful weekend!
Take care,
Leslie

Sure...I will even pay for an extra bag!
I'm headed to Destin, on the panhandle...in the Pensacola area. My sister's mother-in-law has a condo there that she is letting me rent at a really great price. AND, she is letting me use her mini-van that they (my sister's mother-in-law & her hubby) don't use so I won't have to rent a car! What terrific people! It will be nice to spend some time with them, too. It's been awhile since I've seen them.
If I can, I'll try to take some pics and post them.
Next Wednesday (when I'm leaving) can't come soon enough!! I"m just as excited about not having to go to work for 2 weeks! YIPPEE!!!
Have a great night!

Leslie, I have been to the Pensacola Area. In 1988 I went there with my brother to his wifes family reunion. I will never forget it. All they talked about was going to Walmart. You would think that was the best thing since buttered bread. I had never heard of Walmart back then. They had a stream behind their house and alligators came up in their yard. I loved the area. We went to see the beach too. It was a great trip. I will have to talk to you about it sometime. Well I sure wish I could go with you but have a wonderful time. You deserve the vacation. We look forward to hearing about your trip and don't forget my post-card. LOL !! See you lighter. Joanne
Joanne,
That's funny about the Walmart. I wonder if they are still as enthralled by it?!
The alligators, though, weren't so funny...I would not want to live in that part of the US for that reason (and the hurricanes!)...can you imagine going outside for something & having a gator in your backyard? Gives me chills! Yuck! I can only handle them on TV or in the zoo! I hope I don't see any on this trip. (But I think I might, as there is a restaurant down there where you can buy "bait" and feed them...they have some gators in a pit with a bridge over it, and you put the bait down using a fishing-rod-like contraption. Don't know if I will get there or not. It may be one of the places I go with my sister's in-laws.)
I am so glad to be done with work. I took Mon & Tues off, so I don't go bac****il Nov 3rd! Yea! I leave for Florida on Wednesday.
I will continue to lurk/post and will not forget your postcard! You can be with me in spirit!
Hope things are going well with you and your husband today.
Take care,
Leslie
