A Lurker is Revealed
Hi Everyone,
I have been reading/lurking on these boards for almost a year now, and have been convinced/encouraged that it's time to start posting, thanks to Joanne & co. at Saturday's OH event, and Rob from the Victory support group. I also appreciate Joanne's (and several others') attempts to wake up the Delaware board. I will try to do my part.
So, here goes...
My name is Leslie and I had lap band surgery with Dr. Peters at CHRIAS/Christiana on April 21st, 2008...not that long ago! I lost about 20 pounds pre-op, and have a total of about 60 pounds off so far. I have a long way to go, though, so although I am doing OK, I am getting impatient and want to lose more faster...just like most people here, I suspect.
I have met several of you through the various support groups in New Castle Co., and each group has a unique flavor. All of you that attend, though, have been very open, friendly, and welcoming, and I really enjoy hearing everyone's story. I learn so much by attending. Thanks to all of you members and leaders, too, for their hard work in preparing and leading these groups!
That's it for now...
Have a great day, and a wonderful week!
Leslie

Hi Judy,
Yes, I just love Dr. Peters. He has such a nice way about him...very laid back, but with a hidden sense of humor. And you're right, you don't feel uncomfortable with him at all. As Eggface would say, "I heart him!" I get to go see him Wed for a 4th fill.
I feel so fortunate that I am one of his patients, although I am a big fan of Dr. Wynn's (she leads a support group that I attend), and I like Dr. Irguau, too. I had to call CHRIAS one Saturday after surgery and he was the one that returned my call. I have never met him in person, though.
I really can't complain at all about the care I have received from Dr. Peters and the whole CHRIAS staff, as well as the PMRI group.
Enjoy the rest of your evening!

Lurkers are always welcomed to come out and be vocal....remember you aren't alone even when you just come in a peek around....there is always support here. All you need to do is reach out for it. One good thing about the boards are there are so many of us out there reaching out and trying to be a better indvidual - and its good to hear the success, its also good to be there for the failures....those are the times where people really do need for you to help. I just hope that others will read and realize that we are all in this together and its good to know you have a friend...even if its just cyperspace right....Enjoy your day and Congrats on that 60 lb loss...its amazing and I bet you feel better already!
Enjoy the day!
