So . . . how was Philly?
BJ, Our trip was good. We had car problems when we met Amy so she drove up to Phily. THANK YOU AMY ! I think all had a good time. The food was great. The speakers were good. They could of had more vendors but all else was good. We made it back home safe with no other problems. I will let someone else tell you guys more. I won't mention no names but someone sitting at our table promised to post today. Ok lerker we are watching !! See you lighter. Joanne
The said lurker is here...I guess I am officially "outting myself!" ...
Didn't realize you all had car problems on the drive up; I'm sorry to hear that, but am glad you got home safe.
It was truly a pleasure meeting all of you, and seeing Amy (whom I have met before) again.
Hope you all have a great week!
Leslie

Hi BJ,
I really never answered your post...
I thought the OH event was OK, but not terrific. I, too, thought there would be more vendors, and expected a few more samples of Eggface's recipes and other samples from other bariatric foods vendors, although we did get a few. I didn't feel like fighting crowds in the hallway to get to Eggface's/Melting Mama's table to try some of their other recipes.
IMHO, some of the speakers were a little boring and long-winded. And, some of the presentations were not really relevant to everyone there, like the plastic surgery one (although from what I understand, Dr. Hurwitz' organization was a main sponsor and footed the bill for most (if not all) of the conference). I found his presentation a little boring, though...how many pictures of before/after bodies can you take first thing Saturday morning? He is an expert in his field, though, and I respect his knowledge and expertise. When I need plastics, I will look into his services, but I don't see that happening for a long time.
I really don't mean to sound so negative, but that's my honest opinion.
However, on the positive side, I was truly inspired by Ramon Lopez' presentation on his 250+ pound weight loss (I forget the exact amount), as was most everyone else in the room. What a story! The clothing/image/body type presentation was very informative, and the motivational coach was also interesting.
It wasn't the best conference I have attended, but was an interesting day, and I enjoyed meeting up with some fellow DE losers.
That's my story, and I'm sticking with it!
Have a good day,
Leslie

Hi All,
I agree with Leslie. I was truely inspired though. I am going to see the surgeon on Thursday for my first consultation. Saturday made me realize how much support there is in this group. My mom went with me and she was glad that she went. The average numbers for the people that met with the plastic surgeon was $32,000. I am sorry that I did not meet any one from the Delaware crew.
