Tuesday Roll Call
Good Morning Delaware ! It is a nice cool day in Lower Slower Delaware. Saturdays OH Event is 4 days away ! I am so looking forward to getting out and going. Bob is doing good this morning. If the aid comes today I am going to take a walk around the neighborhood. The weather is so nice for walking and I really need the exercise and just to get out of the house. I have started dinner in the crock pot. Chicken and veggies. I can cook differently since Bob is not eating anyway. He hates Chicken but everyone else loves it. Harris Teeter had whole chickens on sale. About $2.50 for a whole chicken. I need to go today and get a couple more for the freezer since it is the last day of the sale. They also had sliced mushrooms for $.99 . They are one of my favorites since surgery. Hope everyone is having a blessed day. What are you guys cooking today. I have to admit I stopped cooking for awhile but I am ok now and back to doing the right thing. See all lighter. Joanne
Well we made it past Monday thankfully.....It was a good day today...smiling, laughing, and just doing things. My old boss stopped by to say hi...it was nice to see him and the drafting dude George...Gosh I miss that crowd sometimes. I like the newbies I work with too they are a lot of fun - we make fun of each other and thats okay! I really like days like this...I feel good and don't mind doing things. I am looking at the yard and thinking I should do something out there....I may have an hour of day light....I see peppers on the vine I can pick!
We are having pork and saurkraut for dinner tonight....looking forward to it.
Have a good night everyone!

Hi Everyone,
It was a really pretty day today, until it clouded up and started raining. It's ok though because I was at the Cafe getting more cleaning done. Both fryers and the grill are done now. Wednesday is cooler and freezer day; break them all down and clean them out with bleach and water. I will pull out all of the vent filters from the coolers and ice cream machines and get them cleaned up. My back is sore from all the crouching and scrubbing, and my hands are a mess but I really feel like I am accomplishing something. The place is really shaping up Once the coolers are done, I will prop open all of their doors, cover everything with plastic and paper. The boys will come in over the weekend and finish the walls and do the floors. POOF, we'll be done. They are all in school during the week so the final touches can't be done until the weekend.
Ed and I took Alex and his girlfriend to Peetza Hut and had the buffet. (OH editor won't let me spell it right!) I like buffet because I can pick and choose, so I had a salad and maybe 2 little skinny slices of peetza. I really wanted a cinnamon breadstick, so I had one...just one. Sure enough, about 2 miles into the trip home, I started yawning. LOL. The carbs and sugar put me to sleep every darned time. We stopped in to see the grandkids for a few minutes before going home. Dakota cut her first tooth so of course, we had to feel around for it. She was not real happy that me and pop-pop kept. sticking our fingers in her mouth! Clean ones of course.
My dinner menu prototype is coming along, using Joanne's suggestion of chicken and dumplings, meat loaf, ribs. I need to add a fish entree, but have to stick with either frozen filets or fried. If we do fresh catch type seafood, Mark will need a seafood license...he doesn't want to do that. Sysco has some excellent quality, nitrogen frozen fish which is almost as good as fresh. Maybe a salmon steak or halibut? A thicker, firmer fish is desired, as the thinner, flatter fishes tend to break down after freezing and fall apart when cooking. I think a Friday Fish Fry would work...Any ideas? I appreciate your input. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.
