TGIF everyone!

Sorry I haven't posted lately but I had something get in my eye and I had a scratched cornea-very painful.  So, I couldn't stay on the computer for long period of times (it would make my eye burn) so when I was on it I had to catch up on office work.

I hope every one has a good weekend and the weather stays clear for the bikers!  I have been watching them on the highway from my office window-there is alot of them!

I go for my psych evaluation on Monday!  I told the doctor I may be obese but does that make me crazy too???  LOL!

I hope Joanne and Bob have had a great time on their trip!

Have a great Friday everyone, Debbie

Ouch that sure does sound painful. Glad to hear you are on the mend!

My WLS doc told us that the purpose of the psych eval is just to make sure that patients don't have any unrealistic expectations of the surgery, and that they are mentally competent to understand it is (for the most part) a permanent change in lifestyle, and they are also able to comprehend and follow the directions they're given (sticking to menu plans, etc.). You'll do just fine!

I saw Joanne's granddaughter in the elementary school today, I asked if her granny was still on a cruise ship and she said yes.

I really buckled down yesterday (yes finally) with my food intake. I have been eating a lot more veggies this week, and a lot less carbs. Still having my weak moments here and there, but when I crave sweets at least I am reaching for a sugar-free low-fat version of a Fudgesicle rather than the real deal.  So I definitely have a lot more cutting back to do -- but at least I am weaning myself away from the constant grazing. Restocking the fridge with better choices when I get my first paycheck . . .

Having a new job (starting next Wednesday) is going to help keep me busy, too . . . and might lessen some of the financial strain that gets me stress-eating. The job is 9 miles from home, with flexible part-time hours that allow me to work while the kids are in school and be home before they get off the bus. It sounds like the perfect situation here in Rehoboth where I was starting to panic about getting a year-round job. Phew!!!

Oh -- and another sign of my new commitment to fight regain and get back on track -- I picked up a comfy gray velour warmup suit (hooded jacket and pants) from Goodwill for $4 so now there really is no excuse for me not to get out there and exercise LOL . . . I really have no excuse -- my neighborhood here in PotNets Lakeside is full of white-haired geriatrics out there walking and/or jogging every morning. If they can do it, I can do it. (I hope!)

Hi BJ:

Glad to hear about your new job.  I knew you  were worried you wouldn't find something!  Good luck.  Hopefully  I will see you Wednesday night at Support Group ( I think we have another meeting this week) and you can tell us how your first day went!

I love going to the gym although I don't get there as much as I would like to.  I feel better after I go and have more energy.

Have a great week!  Debbie

Cuddles-- glad the eye is on the mend......They can be so painful...i worked for opothalmologist for  a while and was shocked to see how much pain people were in with a corneal abrasion and such.

BJ -- Great your getting ontrack i have been trying to as well.   Yeah your right if the older genration can we should be able to.  I see my 85 yr grandmother doing all kinds of stuff.  SO i took my bike into dicks to get it tuned up and when i get it back im gonna try to ride it 3 times  aweek.
I want to ride in the ems memorial bike ride from NY to roanoke va this may now that i can breathe better.  I have particiapted before as support  but i wnat to ride,  even more since we lost one of our sussex county medics in june.
