Nice and cool out the AM...going out to walk and coming home to tackle tons of laundry.  Where does it all come from with just two people??   Sometimes I feel like it is more than when both of my children lived at home.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day and a restful weekend.

Ellen, Hope you got it all done. My hamper was full when I left yesterday. Hubby or Debbie did it all while I was gone.  See you lighter. Joanne

So far, so good this Friday morning . . . the temps were "just right" out there for a dog-walk at 6am. And, I just finished eating a healthy breakfast (egg/cheese omelette and sausage) which actually sated me. This is rare, in that I don't ever feel restriction, and I am full! Let's hope the feeling lasts LOL.

Today I am tackling all kinds of phone calls and putting out all kinds of fires. I'm sure my stress level will be way up by lunchtime, hopefully I can stay on course and eat sensibly instead of stress-eating.

BJ, Do you usually eat breakfast ? They say your pouch is tighter in the morning . It stretches as the day goes on. Anyone else feel this. My favorite breakfast is an omelet with salsa on top. Want more protein add in alittle cottage cheese or rigotta in your  omelet.  Hope you got thru the day stressfree. See you lighter. Joanne

I am one of those people that needs a couple of hours of wake-up time before I can eat breakfast. My typical day starts with an entire pot of coffee. I cannot function without it, period! I will usually eat a couple of eggs around 9:30am . . . even if I do get full, that feeling is gone within 15 minutes, I believe my stoma was not made small enough to begin with. Food goes right through into my intestines, this leaves me hungry all of the time. Even if I eat denser proteins, 20 minutes later my pouch is empty and growling.

Also -- once I start eating -- it's like my body just craves more food. So the longer I can put off the first meal of the day, the less time I am spending thinking about food.

I know this sounds crazy. This lack of restriction is my biggest disappointment about my RNY procedure. When I originally brought this to the attention of my surgeon as a new postop, he just pooh-poohed me and told me I would eventually get used to recognizing the sensations of fullness that my body would send me. He refuses to send me for testing to see if my pouch is stretched or if my stoma needs to be made smaller (not like I can afford that anyway, with no insurance now).

Then he tells me that I should be weighing and measuring food, regardless, and stopping when I reached a certain intake limit. Well, frankly, I could have done THAT without having my insides rerouted.

It is like being on a perpetual diet these days, as I really have to eat healthy foods. When I was originally considering WLS, the outcome I desired was to be able to eat like "thin" people -- you know, eating whatever you want, just smaller quantities. I also bought into the spiel that sugar and sweets would make me ill. I don't seem to have the dumping problem, unfortunately.

Having griped and complained about this now . . . would I do it all over again? Heck, yes. LOL. It is just a lot harder than I was led to believe, this maintenance stuff as a postop.

BJ, It is dido here. We are not alone either. I have talked to many people about this. I seriously think it has something to do with outr genes. People don't understand this unless they have the problem. It is not just following all rules but that does help. Hang in there . Keep your head up and please remember you are not alone. See you lighter. Joanne
