Good Morning Delaware ! Still hot and muggy in lower slower Delaware. We did get a little shower yesterday. Not much. Yesterday Debbie and I went to the thrift store in Ocean View. Jeans were half price (50cents). Debbie bought a pair of 18 and was so happy with them. WOW MOMENT for her. I bought a rolling suit case for the grandkids trip with their mother . They are excited about going on vacation with her. Bob had a very good day yesterday. I think God slows him down when he over does it. He wants to go see the World Trade Center site. His brother is going to take him there one day soon.  I think it will give them some much needed alone time so I agree with him taking him. He might not be able to walk around but at least he will be able to say he visited the site. I don't have much planned for today. I think I will just relax and take in some vitamin D. What is everyone up to today? Welcome to all the new people on the site. See all lighter. Joanne

Hi everyone!

Congrats to Debbie for getting into her 18 jeans!  I hope someday to get BACK into a pair of 18 pants!  I know it would be a WOW day for me.

I went to the Ladies Express Workout last night and I had them do a comparison sheet for me of my weight, measurements, BMI, etc to compare to when I first started there in February 2007 to now.  I had lost 4 pounds after going several months there and now have gained it back and a few more.  My BMI when I first started my exercise program there was 42.2 and now it is 43.2.  I am going to take this report with me to the doctor-I don't know if it matters but hopefully it will help with the insurance company.  I want to get the ball rolling! Does anyone else have any ideas what might help me to get the insurance company to approve the surgery??

Again, thanks to everyone out there who posts.  I read your comments every morning and afternoon. You all are a blessing to me.

Debbie

Good Afternoon Delaware, I am off today and enjoying it so far.  Tonight I am going to the state fair to see Trace Adkins.  I can't wait for that, it is going to be awesome.  Hoping the rain will hold off until my ride home, I don't want to get wet at the concert tonight.

Have a great day everyone!

Deanna, Best of luck to ya but it doesn't look good as far as rain. Two years ago Debbie and I watched a concert at the State Fair in a thunder storm. WHAT WERE WE THINKING ??? We had track side seats too. Hope you have bleacher or club house. We all know by now it always rains when the fair is here.  see you lighter. Joanne

Hello All!

I'm so thankful for the rain.  We so needed it.  It's down hill now to get to the weekend. YAY!!

It's late, but I just wanted to post about my day - it was great!

My DH took off work today to take DD & me to the State Fair.  My DD loves it!  It was hotter than a vacation on Venus, but we walked it all - we checked out all the animals (my favorites are the cows, DD's are the baby chicks, DH doesn't discriminate and loves 'em all), had lunch (scrapple sandwiches for DH & me, French fries for DD), tried deep-fried treats (deep fried Snickers for DH, deep-fried Oreo for me - they were both ok.  nothing worth going crazy over, though), and DH & DD rode Every. Single. Ride. they could.  Normally, I'd be the one getting on the rides, but I wanted to go see all the crafts & other stuff, and the two of them weren't interested.  So I had fun with all that stuff while they got started on the rides.

After the fair, we drove to Dover to what has now become my FAVORITE restaurant in Dover (not really a remarkable achievement, considering I see Dover maybe once a year) - a BBQ place called "Where Pigs Fly."  Wow!  Yum!!  I got a half-rack of baby back ribs and some pulled pork, with two sides - I chose baked beans and broccoli salad.  Oh. My. God.  The meat just fell off the bone, the sauce wasn't too sweet, and the sides were just the right size (and the broccoli salad was perfect, too!).  DH even remarked at dinner - "Wow, this must be great!  I haven't seen you attack a meal like that in a looooong time."  Huh.  I think he just doesn't pay attention at mealtimes

We dropped DD off at my mom's in Middletown, where she'll spend 2 days, because I'm headed up to NYC to visit with some of my DS peeps up there.  Right now, I'm on my bed with the laptop, snuggling up to my dog, who's vibrating with fear because of the thunderstorm.  I'm being a good dog mama (LOL).

And the greatest thing?  I'm not exhausted.  I was never bathed in sweat today.  I never "had to" sit down because my legs couldn't take it anymore.  It was nice to walk around the fair in a t-shirt and a denim mini and not feel sweaty and miserable the entire time, even if it was hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk!  My thighs aren't chafed - because they didn't rub together!  I was healthy enough to have this day without a second thought.

Hope everyone has a great couple of days!  I'll be back when I come home from NYC.
