Confused re steps to prepare for lapband
Hi all,
Met Dr Wynn, She is very nice. She gave me a black binder. The binder is very confusing. It states NOT to get your clearences to soon. The doctor said I can get my surgery in 2 months. The problem is the lung doc now cant see me until Sept 19. I will be seeing the heart spec July 29 and the mental health July 28. I will also be going to nutrition classes at Saint Francis in August. Then another part of the binder says you can get an EKG at pre admission testing but I am seeing the heart doc July 29.
One of the office staff said since I have De phy care I need refferals. She needs them up to 72 hr before my appointments. She told me to call her with the docs I would be seeing and give the info. So I call them back up and the lady on the phone wanted to know WHO said that to me. UG!!!!Now in the binder it says I might need the pcp to refer but someone up at Chrias said that after my PCP gave me the refer to hem then THEY take care of stuff now. So here I sit 100 percent CONFUSED. Who is right or what is right the binder? The Docs office? The person at the docs office? Also HOW do I figure out HOW to put all this together in a timely manner?

Call St Francis at 302-421-4121 and talk to Linda or Maryellen, we can explain the process and try to get appointment for the pulmonologist sooner if you wish. You do not need to do the EKG in pre-admission test...that is only an option. If the cardiologist does an EKG and your surgery is within 2 months, you should be fine. Hope to talk with you Monday. Maryellen
Hi Maryellen,
Thanks for the help. So instead of going to my PCP he is the one that refered me to your practice I can just make my appointments and call you all instead? Also I noticed on my insurance card my PCP is listed as another doctor in the SAME practice but not MY doctor. Does that matter. Both doctors work out of the same office.
Also went to the nutrition class place upon leaving your office the one down the hall. The lady there set me up with 2 classes to take in August. They are group classes. Do I need to also have a one on one meeting? If so when?
Dr Wynn will allow me to use my own PCP for the pre surgery stuff. How will my doctor know what tests I need? Thanks for all your help.I do want the pulmonologist appt sooner. I am also thinking about going to 2 different weight loss support groups. Are there any groups in Dover Delaware?
Ops I wanted to add that I asked the doctor how long my ins company usually takes and she said 2 months. I was just assuming it would be like 2 months from my first consult.
