We are going to go to St Francis next week for the seminar. So now that i have my referral for doc W what's what will the appointment be like? Im getting my blood work done tomorrow.Im so excited about this the journey begins. In the meantime are there any suggestions on anything i can do to get through the process faster ?

Hey Monique!

So you did see Dr. Namey, isn't he nice!!  The speed of your process to get surgery is gonna depend on what insurance you have.  Some have a 6 month supervised diet, mine didn't ask for anything so I had surgery in about 2 months after the first visit.
Since you live in my area, Dr. Guy is a great Pulmonoligist (located in business building behing Fox Run Shopping Plaza) and Dr. Marmo is a great Cardiologist (located in same building as Dr. Namey just on 2nd floor).  For both of those, I got appts very fast.  Both are very very supportive of WLS.
Congratulations and Good Luck!
Judy

Hi Judy,

Thanks for all your help. Dr Namey is really nice there was no problem getting the referral. That office is really busy. Thanks for all the support i'm definately happy i came across this board and i picked the doctor based on your recommendation.I'ts so much easier when you have someone who has already been through this process. I really wanted to deal with doctors that were wls friendly so thanks a bunch and i'm going to be looking into the other docs as well. My insurance doesnt require the supervised diet either so i'm hoping this will be a smooth transition. Now that the journey has began i look forward to all the new things that will take place yay.

Thanks so much.

Monique, I didn't have my surgery in Delaware so can't help you there. Looks like Judy is guiding you well. I just wanted to say congradulations ! The best advice I could give you is make your other needed Dr. appointments ASAP.  We hope to see many post from you so we can share your journey. We look forward to seeing you on the loser's bench, where there is always room for one more. See you lighter. Joanne
