Sunday Roll Call
Good morning Delaware ! Things are going better today in lower slower Delaware. I am making a healthy pasta salad for our church luncheon. It is not as hot today , at least not yet. Hopefully my son will take the kids swimming today at leisure point. Bob is getting adjusted to his meds and seems to be doing good this morning. We will do our usual Sunday BBQ for dinner. Bob and Ruth will be missed. They had to go home because their daughter went into labor. She gave birth to a baby boy. It will just be Debbie's house and mine. I will do the cooking today. Debbie will cook next week when Bob and Ruth come back. It is her turn to cook for all of us. I think I will do chicken and shrimp on the grill. Corn and my favorite Zucchini. My Zucchini plant is doing well . I might just get some of my own home grown. I didn't think it would grow here. What is everyone else up to today? Hope all has a beautiful Sunday. See you lighter. Joanne
Good morning! Today we'll be celebrating my daughter Jacynthe's 8th birthday with a handful of local relatives. Jacy was up at the crack of dawn and has been parading around the house in a crown and sash -- what a birthday diva LOL. The party isn't until 4'ish, I have a million things to do before then including picking up the cake, which I plan on *not* eating, just worshipping it from afar. I hope everyone has a great Sunday!
-BJ p.s. that was some thunderstorm here in Long Neck this morning, huh?!
BJ, I was so tired that I slept thru the storm. Didn't even know we had one until I got to church and everyone was talking about it. It sure is raining good now. Hope you planned the party inside. Take lots of pictures of the little princess. They grow so fast. Alexus just went to a friends house. When we were looking for my car keys we discovered they are at WAWa in Milford. Long story but anyway I will pick them up tomorrow on my way to byler's in Dover. Good job on no cake ! See you lighter. Joanne
Happy Sunday!
Its been raining up north for about an hour now. We really need the rain, the grass is yellow.
Need to go grocery shopping, yuck! That ranks in my favorites like folding clothes.
I think we'll have ham for dinner along with fried squash (my absolute favorite) and the famiy
will have the leftover potato salad. Not sure what else.
Every have a great day!

Good afternoon!
Since it's Sunday, I went to the market. I love going to the market - go every Sunday without fail - because it's ME time. My market has a Starbuck's, too, so it's also caffeine time...
Did lots of laundry today & a couple of household chores.
Dinner's going to be a grilled london broil that I've had marinating for the last 2 hours, roasted redskin potatoes, roasted asparagus, and (my favorite) sauteed red cabbage with bacon and goat cheese. I hope I have leftovers for lunch tomorrow!!!
Have a great sunday everyone!
Back from the Beach....VA and me perfect together as I would like to say! LOL. We haven't done too many road trips this year just because of my illnesses. Good to just go away but better to be home. I don't know about anyone else but eating at home is so much easier than eating out. I don't have to worry will that food make me sick because they used stuff I shouldn't eat.

Life is too short to eat lousy food!

Debbie, We are glad you are back. How was the weather there? My sister inlaw works down there now so my brother stays down. It is easier to eat at home but I have to admit I like eating out. I have learned to order something hubby likes so if I don't eat it he will. I really hate to cook now but I do for hubby and the rest of the clan. See you lighter. Joanne
Like always, I am a day late responding to the daily roll call but hey, I'm responding! Sunday was a little wet and early on, quite noisy with the storm here in Longneck. I worked from 6:45 a.m. until just after 3pm. We took a good beating at the Back Bay Cafe this long holiday weekend. The food was going out faster than we could cook it I think. It's all good...time flies when you get busy like that. I tried to get in my protein each day, but being that busy makes it difficult to stop for a bite to eat. I am the only breakfast cook and being hammered by holiday tourists, there was absolutely NO down time between breakfast and lunch. I had to move immediately into lunch mode whether the lunch cooks were there or not. I did manage a sausage patty or two, and an egg once or twice. My chairs arrived and Ed put them together. They are all around the table now but they are alot darker in color than the picture I saw when I ordered them. Looks like I might be getting a new table too! I get the next 2 days off and I sure need them to recover from the weekend! My back and legs hurt and the hips are sore too. I might go see my grandkids today, but have to hit Millsboro to make the Saturn payment first, and Alex has an appointment in Lewes too. I miss the kids alot since going back to my seasonal job. Sarah wants to be over here alot but I am just too tired to deal with little ones after work. I hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend.
