Good Morning Delaware ! Just me checking in from Lower Slower Delaware.  Thursday has finally arrived and it is the end of the work week for most of you. Congradulations ! You made it thru. I hope all has great plans for the long weekend. I really have no plans. One day at a time. We had a great meeting last night. We did some taste testing of ways to get in protein. Debbie was our chef. Rob she is not as good as you but she doesn't have the experience yet. She is learning.  We even had eggface's egg bites. If you haven't tried them check out her site. It is: The world according to eggface. She gives great recipes. We had a clothing exchange and everyone got a T-shirt from The Walk on the Capital.. It was great conversation and I think everyone learned something from each other. Thank you everyone ! Hubby is kind of swallen in the face this morning. He did sleep all night which is the first in I don't know how long. Maybe a food dairy will help with him too. I would love to know what makes his face swell. Robert is dressing up as a mayor today with cane and all. They have a theme each week at the Boys and Girls club. He dresses up every Thursday. This week it is city week so he is going to be the Mayor. Debbie made him a hat  and I made him a sash both with mayor on it. He will wear a white suit too. His get up is red, white and blue. I will take a picture of him. Alexus doesn't like to dress herself but she will help dress Robert. I told her she could go as the Mayor's wife. Behind every sucessful man is a stong woman. She said no way !!!. Well I have rambled enough so I will say See you lighter ! Joanne

Thursday check-in!  I'm glad to hear that Debbie is stepping out and trying those high protein demos.  The secret is find stuff that you love and then let other people try you concoctions.   Half a day of work for me and I'm off for an adventureous long weekend.  First stop, is up to NYC to do a skyscraper race.  50 floors!  Friday and Saturday I'm going to be running with some friends.  Saturday, I may venture down to Middletown to do the Delaware Double Cross.  Waiting to find out if I can coax one of my spinning instructors to come along with me. Also on Friday I am grilling and cooking for about twenty brave souls.  I'm pulling out my mandolin slicer and creating a chicken penne pasta with roasted shallots.  PMRI is going to be having a recipe share day on July 19th.  Gabrielle is asking for people to submit recipes ahead of time (links below).  I highly recommend these sessions.  You can learn a lot, or just get some reinforcement for following good practices.  Have a happy holiday! Rob Recipe Exchange: Send in a recipe and take home a bunch! Saturday, July 19 • 10-11 a.m. Gabrielle Snyder Marlow, RD, CDE, Registered Dietitian Submit all recipes by e-mail to: [email protected] by 07/12/08 Also for a link to the PMRI schedule: http://www.christianacare.org/body.cfm?id=411

Good morning all, it's a beautiful day and I am so glad it's Thursday.  we are very busy at work so this will be brief.  The wedding is Sat, prayers that the rain holds off for us....and the reception is in old New Castle, it should be a very nice day and the end of two weeks of chaos in our family.   Sunday will be my day for catchup, I have wash, cleaning and whatever else I get into.  Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend!

Hello to all!! Ahhhh the end of the week couldn't come soon enough!  Joanne, sounds like you had great success with your protein recipes.  I have tried a few of Michelles (eggface) recipes and they are  great!  My kids didn't even know they were healthy!  Loved the white chicken chili and carne asada. Off to the pool!! (for another sun burn)

Well here I am, better late than never I guess! It was fun meeting you folks at last night's meeting, I left feeling invigorated and recommitted to my goal of getting back on track. I spent all day running errands, the traffic at the beach is just horrible, hopefully I won't have to venture out again this weekend! -BJ

B.J It was nice to finally meet you face to face. I 'm glad you got something out of the meeting. Other people learned from you sharing your journey with them too.  Traffic is terrible. I wish I could get out of town for the weekend myself. I do have to go to middletown Saturday night for a funeral ( my brother inlaw ) .  Have a good weekend  and I look forward to seeing you next month.  See you lighter. Joanne
