Kathy, My husband was an alcholic  up until about 11 years ago. He also was a heavy smoker which caused his cancer. He even smoked after 2 rounds with cancer. He stopped smoking January 15 after a bout with phemonia. He used chantex which worked for him. Debbie quit smoking when she got an infection after her surgery. I will never forget her crying when they were going to admit her. She asked if she could go smoke a cigarette first. The Dr. told her if she wanted to heal she had smoked her last cigarette. It was her last. She did use the patches. She does drink once in awhile. Like Ed she knows all the effects. I agree they are grown adults and have to make their own decisions. As far as Ed, I think he should be checked for bacteria over growth. It causes you to crave carbs and get very tired  and sleepy after eating them. Does he get his bloodwork done? If he does his Zinc or Calcium will be low. I have this and have to take antiboitics 7 days each month.  I would love to have you come talk at my support group . You have so much to share. And with all you attitude is so positive. Keep up the great job !! I need to take lessons from you. See you lighter. Joanne
