Hot news!  Stay tuned!   It looks like Walk from Obesity will happen this year (September) in Wilmington, DE. Gather up your friends and get ready to make an appearance.  Its your chance to get educated, give back, and have some fun.  Its time to turn the tide and stamp out obesity. I'll post more as soon as the details are ironed out. Rob

I don't have the date yet, but should know after the first committee meeting.  Which hopefully will be soon.  I am assuming that it will be in September (although I am hoping to avoid the weekend of Sept. 27-28 since that is the Bike to the Bay).  I'll keep you posted.  I'm sure we will be looking for volunteers. Dear Rob, I have never, never, ever walked in a Walk before.  Can you enlighten me some, please?  Are the participants being timed?  Are they walking at their own pace?  Is there a charge for walking?  How long is the walk usually?  Are there stations for water & juice or do participants bring their own?  How many people typically show up?  Are there any plans to do walks in mid-DE, i.e., Dover, Smyrna or Middletown?   So many questions.  Sorry!

Sharon, So many questions.  So few answers yet.  The committee has not yet had their first meeting yet.  I can tell you that the walk will in Wilmington.  Probably either at the Riverfront or at PMRI (my preference).  It will consist of 1-, 2-, and possibly 3- mile walks (or just may be lap walking).  It will definitely be self-paced and very educational.  This is not a race and there will probably not be timers available.  There is a fee because they are trying to raise money to promote educational awareness of obesity.  There will be water stations for participants and snacks, snacks, and healthy snacks.  Above all it will be a lot of fun!  I will definitely let everyone know more details as we get them.
