Denial From Insurance Company

  I just heard from the insurance company about my pre authorization- Denied!!!!  I am so upset and just a little mad. I got the decision on Wed 4/23 and my surgery was scheduled for Tues 4/29. That bites!! I have put in an appeal and have my insurance broker working on it. They just don't understand what we go through to prepare ourselves for such a life altering procedure.  I will keep everyone informed on the final decision. Don't give up...lots of people have had to put in appeals and got the insurance company to change their minds.  Which insurance do you have?  Did they say why you were denied?  I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Ellen

  Thank You. I won't give up. Coventry Is my insurance policy. I knew going in I would have to put out some money for out of network coverage but they are dening me because They say Dr Irgau is out of network. He is in network but Delaware weight loss is not.

I know numerous people that were denied the day before. LOL. NOT. Hang in there. Aetna refused my 1st attempt, then with a letter from my primary DR and an appeal letter from me I was cleared. I put the appeal letter I wrote in my profile. It was written in or around Dec of 2003. I think the folks that carried Coventry  have always had problems, in fact Coventry used to never cover WLS. Some folks actually changed insurance and did the waiting game all over again before they were approved.  I have to tell you that even though it is dissapointing, the end result is sooooooo worth the wait. Use the time to start walking, try to get yourself to a support group near you.  You'll find the best support that is available and a group of folks that know exactly where you are coming from.  Meanwhile try to stay focused and positive.
