OT-anyone a nurse or in nursing school? job q
Weird question...I start my nursing clinicals this fall and am ecstatic if not a little nervous. I'm currently unemployed and am considering whether it is better for me to find a seasonal job since I live downstate because I've heard the nasty rumors that it's practicall impossible to work while in clinicals. Anyone know anything about this or have some suggestions of good places to work while needing to do a large amount of studying? ANy input would be appreciated. Thanks!
When my daughter was in her clinicles, she worked part time at Christiana. The good thing is even while part-time, you do get some benefits. Unfortunately she had to leave the program due to premature delivery at 30n weeks and is now on kidney dyalisis due to pre-clamsia. Baby Abigale was 2 lbs 4 ozs and is now 2 and 1/2 and very active. Good luck. It is well worth the effort. ((HUGS)) Elissa
Elissa---CONGRATS on being a grandma! I''m so sorry to hear whats going on with your daughter and I hope she's doing okay. I'm also glad to hear the baby has done soo well. I'm nervous about clinicals since I'm a little older than the average student but not by too much....but itsstill nerve racking! I'm down state and have applied to Nanticoke and they were not all the receptive because I think people who were in school before were not that reliable and I'm applying to Beebe but they run their own nursing school so are very competitive to place their student s first...I'm going to keep trying all the same, Do you know if your daughter had a hard time working and going to school. Just curious because, like I said, I've heard the rumors and everyone I know whois in clinicals now has had to quit thir job t maintain their grades. Del Tech down here is uber-strict. But thanks for the input...it definitily made me feel like their is hope and notjust poverty around the corner! Hugs! Rae
