Was wondering where is the best economical place to get them and which are the best tasting? Also how much to buy at a time, does it store well?

For now I think I would suggest not getting a large amount of the protein.  You might buy it and not like it and then be stuck with it.  (Speaking from experience!)  I use the Adkins Advantage pre-mixed drinks in a can.  15g of protein.  I generally get the Chocolate Royale and it is very good.  It has to be very cold...sometimes I'll stick it in the freeze for a few hours and let it slushy.  Walmart has had them for 5.96 with 2 free in the pack.  So you're getting 6..$1.00 each and that's not bad.  They have other flavors but I've only tried the Chocolate Delight and didn't like that taste. GNC is another good place to go to look for protein.  I also use South Beach High Protein bars.  They hav 10g of protein and are good tasting too. Good luck deb

There are a couple of websites that sell protein powder....I go to Vitamin Shoppe for Syntrax Nectar - I have been using it for about 4 years now....I latched onto it early on and loved it.  I tried others but not that crazy about them.  The stuff is not cheap - nothing for this surgery seems to be cheap.  Or perhaps its my taste buds that don't like cheap!  LOL.  Good luck with your search for your favorite.  The on line sites sell the stuff by packets so you can try it without shelling out lots of money....Susan Marie's site which I think is baractriceating.com. and Vitamin Lady's site....I can't remember that one but if you google protein powders you should find it or perhaps someone else here can chime in for ya. My favorite protein snacks are: beef jerky 1oz. serving is 14gr. of protein roasted soy nuts 1 serving is 10gr. of protein soy crisps 1 serving is 7-9gr of protein depending on what brand and flavor you get. For ALL of my snacks I portion out in a snack baggie for portion control.  I also leave one in my purse, car and at work for one of those hungry and need protein emergencies. The only protein supplement I can stand is the hot chocolate the drs. office sells.  To this I add 8oz of skim milk to make it 23gr. of protein. Judy   :O)

I bought a case of Isopure from the Vitamin store pre-surgery. Post surgery it truely gagged me. I traded for Strawberry powdered Isopure. Mixed it with soy milk. 3 a day for about 80grams of protein. I do not care for chocolate., so I'm limited.  Then I found  unflavored Unjury and mix it with red grapefruit crystal lite. Used to do 3 a dayn now that I am 4 yrs out I only do 1 a day.  Each drink is 20 gramsprotein. If you buy more than 6 there is no shipping charge right from Unjury. It is also at the Dr's office and a couple of the Happy Harry's also carry it.  Cheapest directly from Unjury in bulk if you like it. I like it cause it doesn't taste grainy like some of the powders. There are alot of ways to mix the unjury, with yogurt and fruit it is a good smoothie. Add a little peanut butter and coco, MMMMM. Again, use your imagination. ((HUGS)) Elissa
