See I told you everything would work out. Monday will be here before you know it! From my experience I found not everyone was supportive of me having my surgery. To those that were negative, I never brought up the subject because I didn't want to listen to their BS. I only talked to mostly family and co-workers that were truely happy for me. As for the restaurant topic, I still go out with the family, I just make wise choices for my meals and bring home the rest for a couple more meals. Congratulations and Best Wishes for a speedy recovery!!! Judy
~Believe in Yourself~
Sharon, try to stay focused & positive. Surround yourself with other positive people. Have faith in your decision. People are concerned, some don't understand. I had 2 negative people's comments. Believe it or not, 3 yrs later my 1 negative friend had lap band. She saw my success and wanted it for herself too. I was supportive to her. Once she looked into it herself, she understood my desire to be healthy. Resturants, well GF, all you have to do is order the appetizer's or soup, or salad & ask for a doggy bag. Be prepared to have the waiter/waitress become stressed that you don't want to drink with your meal. Or you can decide to tell them upfront that you can either eat or drink, but not both. This usually envokes curiosity or you will even get that I'm sorry look or maybe they will share a family member or friends story with you. Make smart choices. Protein 1st. I've never regretted my decision. Get ready for the beginning of the rest of your life. ((HUGS)) Elissa
