I have my date!!!!
Hey everyone! I am so excited!! I talked to Mistee today and I am scheduled for surgery on
APRIL 16TH!!
This is for the lap band with Dr. Irgau.. I have my pre-op appt on April 3rd with Dr. Wynn!! Can someone please tell me how to lose 8-10 lbs in 6 days. I need to lose it for insurance purposes. I have been working out a TON and lost a few lbs but I didn't think everything would be happening this soon so please someone tell me what I need to do!!!
I am going to drink a lot of water and exercise a lot.. Any advice would be great!
I am sooooooo excited. I wanna be on the losers bench too!!!
congrats on your surgery date and good luck..., i was able to lose quite a bit of weight by just going on a liquid diet for a week... it kinda sucked but it wasnt too bad ... i lived on clear liquids and those flavored protein drinks from GNC ( sorry cant remember the name ).. i was able to lose 11 pounds in the last two weeks and a total of 31 pounds in the 3 months before surgery
good luck!!
No, I don't know why, but I'm not nervous. I'm worried about the 2 day fast. At least it'll be a Saturday & Sunday. I'm having my surgery on a Monday. I'm worried about my blood sugar crashing (dropping too low), but I did speak to my endocrinologist who told me how to deal with it. I just know that even if my blood sugar doesn't crash, I'm not going to have tons of energy if I don't eat, esp. on the 2nd day. Maybe I'll just lie in bed for 2 days. (I think I'm kidding?!!) But no, I'm not worried or nervous about the surgery itself. I'm not even worried about the pain afterwards. I know I'll be taken care of.

The diet isn't that bad. I am on all liquids right now and the first day was hard but today wasn't so bad and I had a show tonight where there was tons of food and I didn't even really want it... So you will be okay with it!! I am worried about the pain a little bit because I am a baby when it comes to being hurt... but like you said.. I will get through it too....Right around the corner though!! Bet you can't wait.. like me!
Dear Antoinette,
That must be a change for you (otherwise, you wouldn't have mentioned it) to be at a function/event where there are tons of delicious-looking foods & not even be interested in them. For me, I have my over-indulgencies(?) when I'm frustrated about things that I have no control over; i.e., low blood sugars, anticipating surgery, etc. Usually, and I mean usually, someone can eat a chocolate brownie in front of me & I can deal with it...now Nacho chips is another story! I guess we each have our own weaknesses. If we didn't, we wouldn't be overweight & considering WLS, right? I do hope things turn out well for you. Keep in touch!
