So, what do I do now?!?!
Okay, here is my issue right now! I had my initial consult on Feb 15th and my weight was 230lbs. My insurance requires me to lose 5lbs before surgery.. So I'm like yeah okay I can do that... So I have been working out a little bit, using a shake for 2 meals and just eating one meal a day and cutting out bad stuff and drinking a ton of water... I went to the Dr. today for pulmonary clearance.. and my weight was 239! I was like WHAT THE HECK!?!? I don't know what to do.... I am retaining some water from my monthly cycle which is about over... But now I not only have to lose the 5lbs but I have to lose the other 9 I have somehow gained..
So what should I do??? I have time but I want to be on the right side!!! I'm so frustrated and upset right now!!!
btw- i take a ton of vitamins, protein, fiber and stuff like that.... sooo any help would be great!
Thanks,
TONI
Was it the same doctor's office with the same scale? I realize that this might be reaching a little bit, but not all scales are perfectly calibrated to match. Also, was there a significant difference in the time of day between appointments? I always weigh in the morning - if I weigh in the afternoon, I'm a good 3-4 pounds heavier, since I ate and drank... I also used to retain water like a sponge during my cycle - up to 8 pounds worth!
It sounds like you've been doing all the right things. I don't know what to tell you! Hope it works out for you!
Toni,
It almost sounds like you aren't eating enough to get a loss and your body is going into starvation mode and storing. Of course water weight and weight retention during TTOM could also be playing a part....I don't know what to tell you, but try to eat 3 balanced meals or 6 mini meals....maybe you could talk to your NUT and get some help in that arena???
I know you can do this, we've all been there.....try not to get discouraged!
AK,
Lean meat, eggs, cheese, and tons of water. No fats, pasta, breads, cereals, or fruit and vegetables. Just the meat, cheese, and eggs. Hubby did this and lost 36 pounds pre-op, so I did it and lost 18 pounds pre-op. Just think "high protein, no carbs or added sugar" You will lose the pounds and shrink your liver at the same time. Good luck.
