Wow  that is awesome that you have lost so much weight!! When you were in the hospital did you get a private room or do they make you share????  Keep it up and you will hit that goal!!!!!

Hello, and welcome to the board. I am some what new myself. I was banded on 2/11/08 by Dr. I and Dr. Peters. So far everything is great. this is a great board and everyone is friendly. Hope to talk to you soon.  Kat

Welcome to the DE boards Toni, This is the place for questions and answers.  I had Dr. Irgau for my RNY surgery back in 2003.  He and the other surgeons at CHRIAS (and the staff) are excellent.   Being nervous is a good thing, because at least you are thinking about how dramatic a change you are about to undertake.  Don't worry about the pain too much, they will help you out if you need it, but most people do not even take the pain medication upon arriving home after surgery. Keep educating yourself by attending some of the meetings at PMRI and other support meetings.  Elissa posts the meetings monthly on this board, but there is usually about one every week.  Also take advantage of the nutritionists and start thinking about exercise.  It's never too early.
