Was in the St. Francis Hospital!

Hi everyone:      I doubt if anyone even remembers me, but I had Gastric a year ago on December 5, 06 I was doing good (lost 100 pounds****il Wednesday of last week. I had severe adominable pain and could not keep even water down. I saw Dr. Irgau on Thursday and on Friday he operated and found old scar tissue and a hernia. God Bless Dr. Irgau! I love that man! I feel so much better now. The weight loss has been slow due to the many problems I have had over the last year (broke my arm,thorn monists,menopose) But I am losing again and I hope to continue. On the other hand the St. Francis Hospital visit was not a good experience! To be fare maybe it was because I was there on the weekend. Everyone who works there treated me great, but I was put in a room that had no plumbing (toilet did not flush, no shower) and it seemed that the hospital was operating with a skeleton crew. So maybe during the week it would not have been as bad, but given the choice again I will have to go to the Christianna. Well that is it for me for now. Sorry I have not updated for a while, I will do better in the future.                                                                                                                         Rosemary Aument

Rosemary, Sorry you have gone thru all this and glad you are doing better. My husband went thru emergency and was admitted for 5 days at Beebe. He was not put into a regular room due to there being none available. The hospital was totally full. He got very good care but poor accomidations. This time of year all hospitals are full. One thing I have always said is be your own advocate and have someone with you at the hospital when you can. My daughter and myself was with my husband most of the time. I have made it apoint that if anyone in my family is in the hospital. Any hospital , someone will be with them. I know all nurses are over worked and they welcome your help. I hope you continue to do good. Sounds like you had a really ruff year. Do something good for yourself. You deserve it. Keep posting! We miss you when you are gone. See you lighter. Joanne

Thank you Joanne for being the only person to respond to my post. It seems that the boards are dragging again. I can't really say anything because I'm gulty of lurking and not posting too. Everyone else needs to get on board.
