Hi Dee...
I started "spitting sutures" about 8-10 days after surgery. Once the tissues were healed together, I started rubbing mineral oil on the incisons and the tight feeling areas and that's when I felt the suture ends coming through, creating their own little opening. These would get infected and really tender and won't heal back together until the stitch comes out. So I started pulling them out. Dr. Danyo said this rarely happens because the sutures are supposed to dissolve over time. Not mine, they came right up once they served their purpose. I hope it doesn't happen to you but anone who has ever had trouble with suture rejection should make sure their surgeon knows. I did inform the office about previous problems with Vicryl sutures and they said they don't use Vicryl, so I thought I was home free. NOT.
Good luck and GodSpeed....
