Newbie - First Consultation!

Hi all! I just wanted to introduce myself to the Delaware forum.  I am scheduled for a consult with Dr. Irgau on Thursday.  :)  I'm so happy that I made this decision.  Happy Holidays to all!

Welcome and ask away with all kinds of questions.  We have all been in your shoes and can give lots of advice and opinions  (even when you don't ask for them)  You will love Dr. Irgau.  He saved my life.  I will always be grateful to him for helping with a tool that I can use to stay healthy.  You still have to do all the work, though.   Lots of good luck and come to some of the support meeting even before you have your surgery.  They have a wealth of information. Hello & Welcome. Remember to stay focused & positive. This is not an easy journey. It has certainly been my life saver and I love Dr. Irgau and Dr. Wynn. Lots of rules to follow for the rest of your life. I posted a list of support group meetings, come to any of them and you will meet people that have lots of information that will help you in your decision to get healthy. ((HUGS)) Elissa

Hello and welcome to our board.  It is a great board with lots of support, we have been kind of slow lately, but don't be afraid to post your questions, someone will help you out always.  It is an awesome life after surgery, but it does require work.  It saved my life also. Here's to your successful journey.

Thanks everybody! Unfortunately, as much as I loved Dr. Irgau, it was not meant to be.  They are out of network with Aetna and it would cost me $8K.  So I am looking at surgeons in Philly and Baltimore.  Both are about an hour from me.  :)
