New Update: TT/Reduction

I think my recovery is finally speeding up, thanks to getting the rest of these sutures out.  I don't know what they are made of but they look like fishing line with *barbs* on them!  I had a lot of string/thread type stitches that were fine, but these plastic ones...OMG...what a pain they've been.  I told Dr. Danyo that I am allergic to Vicryl and he said he doesn't use it, but these things never dissolved and have been working their way to the surface since day one.  Yesterday, I pulled out 3 pieces that were about 2 inches long each, because as they loosened the barbs would poke me on the inside of the incision wounds and cause alot of irritation, and infection.  I've been on Cephalexin 3 different times and have 3 days to go on this last course.  I think it's finally clearing up.  I've been diligent with cleaning the wounds and keeping them covered with gauze and Neosporin. Some cool WOW moments:  I have had to stop wearing all of my pants except one pair of small size scrub pants.  Yesterday my Levis fell to the floor because my hands were full of grocery bags and I couldn't pull them up!  They are size 14.  Funny thing is, my pants sit right about on the incision line from the TT and the skin there is still numb so I can't feel if my pants are falling down or not, so they just fall off.  Too funny!  At least it hasn't happend in public yet! Another WOW moment:  the TT swelling has gone down enough that I can feel my hip bones in the front again...haven't felt them since I was a kid.  I can feel all of my backbones too.  My legs are all skinny now and all my shoes are too big.  Even my glasses have to be adjusted from time to time.

It's been rough but Life is Good! KathyG

Kathy, I was hoping you were going to update us.  I'm glad you are doing so well.   Sounds like you'll be getting a whole new wardrobe, shoes and hopefully belts!!!!     I'll be seeing Dr. Dayno for my pre-op appt on the 27th and hope I do as well as you. Keep up the good work.  Merry Christmas, Dee

Cathy, Glad to hear you are doing better. Funny how our bodies push out things like stitches. My body is still pushing out stitches from my hernia repair a year and a hal*****he Dr. said it is normal. About the pants get a belt fast for I did lose mine in public before. I was carrying all this stuff and trying to prevent my grandkids from dashing in a parking lot with moving cars. Oh yeah ! The cars stopped. One of my most embarrasing moments !!!! See you lighter.
