Does anyone know of a support group in the Delaware area for Gastric Sleeve patients? Or maybe one that isn't WLS specific?

I think the only WLS being performed in DE are the RNY and the Lap Band.  I had to travel for my DS.  You could check with Dr. Bonnani's people in Philly.  I hear he's started doing the DS and may have a couple of Gastric Sleeve patients, since it's part of the DS operation. If you have any questions about the sleeve that I could answer, I'd be happy to do it.  I have the full DS (Gastric Sleeve plus intestinal rerouting), but I can answer the stomach questions

Well, yes actually....Simple as I can put it, how do you like your DS?  And....post surgery, how was taking medication? Do you have to crush pills?

I love my DS!  You'll find very few who don't.  The weight loss was very easy, the maintenance is damn near effortless, and the eating is great.  I pass for normal in social situations - I eat smallish portions of everything I want. I don't have to crush anything.  I did immediately post-op, but I haven't had to since about 4 weeks post-op when my stomach was fully healed.  I'm off all of my medications now, and I only take vitamins - a bunch of vitamins, true, but it beats the 2 antidepressants and 2 hypertension drugs I was on!

I've peeked in on the DS board. I think the fellowship of the DS rivals the "fellowship of the ring", :)   What kind of vitamins do you take? Is there anything you can't tolerate?

We can be a lively bunch, that's for sure I take 1800 mg calcium in 2 doses Prescription iron 2 ADEK vitamins 1 multivitamin extra zinc (because I, personally, need more.  not everyone does) I eat anything and everything.  I get gassy if I eat too many white flour products (but it has to be A LOT of them to bother me).  In general, I've had a very easy surgery/recovery/life with my DS.  I wouldn't ever sugar coat it, though, because there are those that have had problems and food intolerances.  I'll just say, for me, that I've never met a food I didn't like, and the DS allows me to have some if I want it.
