Hello Members,

On a daily basis we get calls from members in desperate need of surgeons that will accept Medicaid and or Medicare for Bariatric surgery.  It breaks our hearts when we have to say "we don't know of any surgeons in your state we can refer you to".

Can you please help us? If you know of any surgeons in your state that accepts Medicaid and or Medicare, will you list their:

This list will remain here for our members to access and use.

Thank you so much!!!

That's a tough one....not many Dr's will go this route in this area.  They will take a few each year.  It's truly a gift of fate when you find them.  I believe my hottie surgeon takes a few....he is in Philadelphia, PA.  Matthew Kirkland.

Hello, I was online researching Dr's in the Wilmington area that do gastric bypass and accept medicaid and I came across this link and stuff on Google and saw your posts and. I was wondering, do you know if ur Dr or of any in our area that accept medicaid? I know there are certain requirements that you have to meet through medicaid, which I know  I do, but I have only found one that did and does not take it anymore.  How long ago was your surgery? What has your success been? How are you doing now? Congtats by the way. (smile) I am very familiar with the procedure and all that comes along with it, both before and after. My younger sister had it 3 years ago, and 4 of my friends have had in the past 2 years and everyone has had excellent results. However, they all live in upstate NY.  I have been contemplating having the surgery for a few years now for many different reasons, the first being fear because I've never had any surgery of any kind. Also, I wanted to wait and see how those I knew did with it and I also thought I could lose the weight myself which obviously has not happened. I have tried everything from just disciplining myself and watching what I eat to weigh****chers, jenny craig, over the counter stuff, slim fast, etc... you name it I've tried it. Looking forward to hearing back from you soon. Take care Eva McChesney

Hi, I have both Medicare & Medicaid. I just had my surgery Jan 28th of this year by Dr. Michael Peters. His office is in Christiana at CHRIAS 302-892-9900. Also, St Francis hospital takes them.
