I have been working with the nutrionist and one of the things she sujested that I add into my diet is whole grains. She said try a muffin for breakfast. I have not been able to find a muffin or mix without at least 16 grams of sugar. Does anyone know of any muffins, mix or have a good recipe that I can make on my own? See you lighter. Joanne

Joanne, There is a high-fiber blueberry muffin that is sold at Trader Joes that a lot of people are talking about.  I have not tried them, or even tried to find them yet, but will probably try and stop by my store this week to get some addtional insight.  Let you know what I find out. Rob

Rob, thanks for the reply. Please let me know what you find out. We have no trader Joe's down here so Debbie and I might have to add Trader Joe's to our monthly trip up north for the meeting at Victory. See you lighter.Joanne

o.k. here's the scoop.  They have a Trader Joe's brand called AppleCranberry or PommegranateCranberry Bran Muffin.  They are pretty good.  Not cheap.  They come in a six-pack for $3.79.   Each muffin is 80 calories.  Total fat is 1.5g (no trans or saturated fats).  Dietary Fiber is 13g, sugar 2g, protein 5g.  Ingredients are:  Wheat Bran, Water, White grape blend concentrate, whole wheat flour, apples, cranberries, sodium bicaronate, cinnamon, salt. They have a few other brands with higher sugar content, but these are the only ones I've tried so far. Hope this helps. Rob

I do have to thank Joanne for asking and you posting this good stuff.  I have been having problems going with being on the meds....never had this problem before.  I can totally understand the need for more fiber.  Thanks Rob

Thanks, If you talk to her, ask her to bring a copy Tuesday. I had to go to Wilmington Friday for a Grandparent's United Board Meeting so I did get to Trader Joe's and got some of their muffins but I still want a mix or recipe to make my own. See you lighter. Joanne
