I am 6 days post op and I am not sure about a few things........I am not really hungry and making myself eat....then  when I do eat, I am not sure if I am eating too much or not enough.....honestly, I'd rather drink something than eat.  Sugar free popsicles are my best friend but I have been drinking skim milk with ice, water and protien mixed in stuff....(always sugar free) and decaffinated tea (loved it on the day I was relaeased).....before surgery, I was kinda the same way about drinking liquids......and I very rarely feel full but I am eating tiny amounts....I am trying to listen and learn the new ques about being full, etc. but I may be missing them b/c I  just stop eating......my biggest fear is getting sick from eating too much.......I just want to make sure I am doing the right thing and not starting any bad habits.  It takes me about 30 min to eat 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup of food and then I wait 30 min and sip someting to drink forever!!!!!! (or have a sugarfree popsicle) The scale moved quite a bit but now it's kinda lingering around the same #. So, am I doing the right thing? Thanks!

You're doing just fine.  Concentrate on getting in the protein and fluid requirements right now.  1/4-1/2 C in 30 minutes is great. My stomach still guggles all the time.  It can be quite embarrassing in a quiet room.

Hi, at 6 days post op you should only be eating about 2oz of food at a time, 5-6 times a day, it should also be pureed.  Make sure you are getting in your protein first.  Drinking liquids is also extremely important, if you are doing a shake it should be about 8-16oz and should take you about an hour to drink that.  The noises you are hearing are normal, I still get them at 17months post op.  I hope this helps.

I am 2 1/2 years out and my stomach is still very loud and I mean loud at times. Soundslike you are doing great to me. Hang in there. Get in your protein, water and exercise. See you lighter. Joanne
