hello all!! uh oh food police
My husband and my mother are watching every morsel going into my mouth!! hubby saying I thought it was only to be a 1/4 cup and my mom saying yeah! OMG they are driving me mad!! Can anyone relate?? Any ideas on how to get around their scrutanizing? I have lost 18lbs in two weeks so I know I am doing fine and I have been walking alot... Ugh nothing is ever good enough!! Instead of complimenting me on those things they point out my eating....errrrr.....

Remember you are very emotional right now. Hormones are going crazy. Everything is gonna drive you nuts. My DH, God love him, got on my nerves really bad. Looking at food drove me nuts. Watching anyone else eat was awful. I ate, then covered up my plate with a napkin so I didn't have to look at food. I hated left-overs. I wouldn't bring the food to the table either. I left it on the stove. My only answer for you is to bring them both to a support meeting so they can listen to other husband's and mothers's. After all this is as new to them as it is to us. I brought my DH to a few meetings so he could listen to everyone else. Then he found out that "I was gonna do what I had to do regardless what he said." I appreciated his concern, but I took the classes, went through all this knowing the rules. It upset him to see me not feeling so great cause I ate 1 mouthfull too fast or too much. My stoma constricted at about 4 wks out and nothing would go down. Not a good feeling. He can still tell if what I have eaten doesn't sit well. Thank God, my tool still works.
Just tell them both that you need their support without their criticism. Life gets better and better. This is only a phase. The newness will wear off for them. Keep up the awesome job. Walking and increasing your activity are great stress relievers. ((HUGS)) Elissa
