and it went really well!!! I saw Dr. Wernsing. I swear he really put my mind at ease. Im not nearly as anxious and worried as I was before. He answered all of our questions plus some. Hubby really likes him and is actually supportive at this point. He wasn't so supportive before today. He had lots of reservations and Dr. Wernsing really put his mind at ease. Im feeling so optimistic about this whole thing right now. Im sure nerves will settle in again but that won't be for a while.  I was told that Tricare is requiring me to go on a 6 month, Dr. monitored diet. :( . The PA said that my doc should send in whatever he has cause it may end up being enough but I need to start the 6 mo. diet now just in case. Most likely Tricare will make me do it anyway.. Kinda disappointing but oh well.. 6 months can go by fast I guess.  The only thing about his office that I DIDNT like was the receptionist. What a B****!! She was so frigging rude and snotty. She had a MAJOR tude with me for not bringing in paperwork that was NEVER given to me at the seminar. She was the one that was supposed to give it to me and I didn't receive anything but an appt card. Of course she couldn't admit she made a mistake. Oh well.. She's not the surgeon so I didn't let it bother me too much. I did have to bite my tongue a few times though. I seriously wanted to give her a piece of my mind but I kept my cool LOL.  Ok well this is turning into a novel. Just wanted to share my news!! Ryanne

Hi Ryanne, Congratulations on the good news.  It is best to start the diet immediately that way you can have everything documented.  I had my first appointment in Sept of 2005 and my surgery wasn't until April of 2006.  The time really flew, I had to wait until after the 1st of April for our slow season at work.  You will be so busy preparing for the surgery that before you know it, it will be here and you will be sitting on the loser's bench with the rest of us.  I am sitting here now in complete shock that it has been almost 2 years since that first appointment with Dr. Wynn.   I wish you the best of luck on this journey.  Enjoy it, it is truly the best thing I could have ever done for myself.

Receptionist has been there forever....she does have an attititude.  I blow her off when I go in there.  My last visit she forgot to give me a card to come back next year....so what I think I will do is get the blood work series needed from her, go to my primary and get her to monitor the levels.  I really don't see the need to go back to him anymore.  There is nothing he can do for me now.  You will do well with the 6 mos monitored diet....its a precursor to getting healthy again!  Good luck with your new journey. Document what you are doing with the 6mos program.  You will probably find it helpful after you have your surgery. Debbie

I wonder if they've gotten many complaints about her. I know a few ladies in the waiting room didn't like her very much either. After she was rude to me one lady looked at me then looked at the receptionist and shaked her head. So she was probably treated poorly too. Oh well.. You can only go so long treating ppl like that before you get yours. Thats my motto! LOL Im actually sort of thinking this 6 mo diet is a good thing. I can start getting my body ready now. It makes sense. Plus hubby will be back from Iraq by the time I get the surgery and I won't have to bother my mother and MIL  to take vacation to come and help me out with my son. I think it's all for the best and working in my favor.  Ryanne
