I meet with the surgeon for the first time tomorrow. I have anxiety about it for some reason. Just as I got over it , it came right back!! Grrrr... I think too much.. that's my problem lol.  I think I have all the bases covered but wanted to see if any of you guys could throw out some questions that I should ask the surgeon. I have alot of questions but its always good to have more questions that you havent even though of!! Probably the most obvious ones Im missing.  TIA! Ryanne

Hi Ryanne, you will do fine tomorrow.  The doctors will go over and explain everything in detail for you.  They will ask you a bunch of medical questions about yourself and will go over the tests that they want you to have.  You will most likely find that they will answer your questions without you even asking them.  They will give you time also to ask the ones that they did not answer.  Stay calm, just remember you are doing this for you and your health and it will be the best thing that you could ever do for yourself.  Good luck

Hi Ellen, I am still around.  I went to the meeting this month at PMRI and last night at Victory.  I have just been lurking and not posting.  I spend my weekends in Federalsburg, MD with my boyfriend.  He lives down there and takes care of his mom, so it is easier for me to go down there then it is for him to come up here.  I was down there last weekend and we drove up here on Sunday so he could meet my mom, which went over extremely well.  The weirdest thing is I haven't lost any weight since April 1st and now I have lost 10lbs in 3 weeks.  I don't know if it's I finally broke my plateau or I am so happy and my body is reacting to that, that I started losing again.  Whatever the reason is I will take it though.  Are you ready to go back to work?  My brother in law Les lost his job when that refurendum didn't pass in May.  I don't know what he is going to do.  How is your shoulder doing?  How was your cruise?  I can't believe summer is over, it went by so quick.  I won't be at the PMRI meeting on 9/10, I will be in CT for my cousin's wedding, so take good notes for me.  It sounds like a good meeting.  I am hoping to be at Margaret's Partner's in Change meeting on 9/11 though.  Talk to you soon.

I am probably too late with this reply.....I have been under the weather.  Ask if they can supply their requirements package to you prior to surgery.  This packet would explain all the things that you will be going through with the surgery into the nutrition phase.  I was given one at one of the support groups that I attended at PA Hospt.  The last one I attended I noticed they were not being handed out anymore.  Its a good pamphlet of information for you to go over.  If they did not give it to you give them a call and ask about it.  It explains what happens in hospital as well as you going home.  Debbie
