Hi All, When a group of us first heard about the hormones ghrelin and leptin, we were astonished.  More like a drop of the jaw (for me anyway).  This is some interesting info I saw today.  I'm copying the link to the whole article below as well.  I know I don't get near enough sleep.. prolly 5-6 hrs.. I'm sure my ghrelin is all wacked out!  Hope you find this as interesting as I did.

Lose to win! 6 ways, 6 foods to drop the pounds

Get enough sleep During sleep, our bodies rest and regenerate, so we can be strong and clearheaded the following day — clearheaded enough to make wise food choices. What’s more, sleep deprivation causes an imbalance in certain hormones, including ghrelin (which causes weight gain) and leptin (which decreases appetite). When we don’t get enough sleep, our levels of ghrelin go up (more weight gain) and levels of leptin go down (so we are hungrier). Don’t think of it as downtime, but as another important facet of your nutrition plan http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20228099/

Tina,    Great article and thanks again for the clothes, much needed boost to my small summer wardrobe.  I've always been a good sleeper so thank goodness I have that on my side!!
