Attended seminar last night

Last night I attended the CHRIAS seminar. It was very informative and I asked a lot of questions but I still have a list for my consultation. Dr. Irgau lead the seminar and he seemed very knowledgable. At first, it felt sort of like a sales pitch to me which made me a bit uncomfortable because my husband is very skeptical about the band and I knew what he was thinking! But, once we got to the q and a section it was great. I am nervous about qualifying for the surgery because my bmi is under 40 and I do not know that I will have any co-morbidities. Lately I have been losing weight which I normally would be thrilled about but I am actually nervous about not qualifying as it stands. I know thats a sick thought! Anyway, I am very excited about hearing from CHRIAS and setting up a consultation. Hopefully they will call soon!! Abby

Hi Abbygirl, I can remember having all kinds of worries before and during the qualifying process. I thought OMG,  this is the ONE time I will be successful losing weight, then I won't be allowed to have surgery, then I will gain it all back overnight Dr. Irgau is the absolute best. Love, love, love him and all he has made possible for me in life. I guess it can't help but sound like a sales pitch to a point. After all, this is a business. However, having said that,  Dr's  Irgau and Wynn and Peter's ( don't know the other doc ) are genuinely caring people who use their talents to help us make our lives so much happier and more productive. They really do hand us the keys to the future. It's up to us to keep opening the doors. Much luck to you Abby, I wish you all the success I've had and then some. Linda

Abby,     Good luck on your journey, you are just at the beginning but once the ball gets rolling it's a whirlwind of activity and the next thing you know you are post op and well on your way into your new journey.      As for your BMI, I was just at 41 when I had my surgery, but I did have co-morbidities that allowed me to be approved and I will have to say that thanks to this wonderful team and my Dr, Igau, I have not only regained control of my life, but for the first time since I can remember I'm living it and not just being a bystander.  It has absolutely saved me.    Any other questions, feel free to ask... Thank you, Debbie. My mom knows Dr. Irgau and she has nothing but good things to say about him! The sales pitch comment was more geared towards the presentation but not Dr. Irgau. I hear wonderful things about all of the surgeons in CHRIAS!!
