Gall Bladder Pill
Erika, I couldn't take it....I tried everything....I asked what the odds of having problems with my gall bladder were, they said 10% risk.....I told them I would take my chances.....so far, so good.
Thank goodness. Perhaps a pharmacy can crush make to a liquid form and flavor for you. It's worth asking. Good luck.
Sometimes I could get in down in a spoon of sugar free pudding...followed by a few more spoons of pudding. I was not always sucessful with that but it is worth a try. I agree, it probably was the worst part of the recovery for me.
Keep trying different things, maybe something will work for you.
Good Luck
No, no, no! Unless it's a horse pill you should be able to take anything the size of an M&M even with restriction after your initial swelling goes down.
I waited until I was on mushies to stop cutting/crushing pills. You might want to try mixing them with some SF pudding. It has a good consistency and flavor.

Ground up In a shot of Spicey V8 worked well for my partner...
There is a pharmacy in Newport that will make Urso forte into a compound. I tried mushing the pill up and it was awful, then someone told me about the pharmacy. It is on Rt 4? down by the Movies 10 shopping plaza.. But its in the strip with the Pats, USPS, and the thrift store. Im sorry I cant remember the name of the pharmacy. But I went in there and they called my surgeon, had them call in another script to them for it to be made into the liquid. She has a few flavors to chose from .. I took it for a little while, but it really made me burp. I just threw a whole bottle of it away. Good luck!!~
I had major nausea problems for the first several months (surgery 5/31/06) - I was one of the unlucky 2% who have this problem - and had REALLY major problems with the urso forte. I tried crushing it, and then I had it made into a liquid (the pharmacy in Newport) - either way it was thoroughly disgusting and I stopped taking it. Someone told me to put the liquid in with grape juice - it looked like a big whtie slug in there and wouldn't mix! ewwwwwwwwww
I ended up having to have my gall bladder removed 12/06. I was willing to take take the chance and lost! (Personally, I think it was worth not having to take those nasty things!!)
You'd think this day and age they could come up with something that wasn't so vile tasting!
Good luck!
