NEW TO THIS BLOGGING THING
So this is the first time I have posted, I have been reading all the info and questions in all the forums, I just don't know where to begin. I'll be 4 weeks out on Thursday, and so far I lost 28lbs Im a little down on myself, because I really wanted to lose 40 the first month. I really haven't been able to exercise because one of my incisions opened, but I'm healed now! So I will try to lose about 10 by Thursday. Is there any support groups around here? I live in Wyoming (not far from Dover) I have never been to a support group, I would love to go to one. Tiffany
Hi Tiffany,

We have some exciting news to share from Obesity Help and new samples to share from Smarte Forme. I am so excited about this months meeting. Come see what all the excitement is about !!!!! See you lighter. Joanne It's under "Support Meetings". Harrington shouldn't be too far from you. Good luck with your journey!! Abby (Dover, DE)
28# the first month is FANTASTIC!!!! Unless you're a MO guy or really SMO 40# the first month is a little far-fetched as a goal. Was this a goal your doctor set or wishful thinking on your part? So STOP BEING DOWN ON YOURSELF. You're doin just fine.
Keep working that pouch Tiff and you'll achieve the results! Don't try to dy any exercising (except walking****il your doctor clears you.
this was a goal i set for myself tomorrow is my 1 month out and as of today im dowm 31 lbs, i guess it is just hormones that has me like this. A lot of people said that can happen right after surgery, I know i have to be realistic, and I told myself before surgery that I did not put this weight on over night, so it will not come off overnight. I guess Im just so excited to see what my new life will be like!!! I can't wait
Oh the hormone rollercoaster, I remember it well. What a ride it gave me! I cried at everything!!!! LOL
Bad enough you're riding the hormone harley, but your breath stinks really bad too! Listerine strips are your friend right now. Gotta love that Ketosis.
Don't rush things. Don't worry when you hit your first Plateu (mine hit at about 3 months). Work on eating good healthy foods, taking your vitamins and drinking your water and as soon as you're cleared by your surgeon, doing your exercise.
I've fallen off my exercise wagon the past year. Life has been running me ragged emotionally trying to finish my degree. This week is it. I took my last final exam last night and Friday I turn in my final project and I am done. No more guilt because I'm not doing something for school or with my daughter. It's gonna be all about my health and family from now on (at least till January when I have to start paying back the student loans, Bleh).
Focus on you. Don't worry about the scale. You're going to lose no matter what right now. Take full advantage of this honeymoon period when losing is easy (12-18 months). Because your body will eventually adjust to your new plumbing and it's back to watching everything you eat again.
