New Lap band meeting location

Thanks to the newest member of our group, Lucy, the May 3rd meeting will be held right near CHRIAS at 7 pm: (1st Thursday of every month) FIRST STATE SURGERY CENTER This is the first building on the left on the little road that takes you to CHRIAS' office. Go in the front of the building, take the elevator to the 2nd floor (above American Radiology). The meeting will be in the waiting room. All banded and to be banded people are welcome.....

Yeah! Closer to home. Is this a new group or the Group from the church on Silverside road?

This is not a new group...it will be the same group from the Silverside Rd group.....Hope to see you thenre..Dave

Hey Carla, I agree...I am hoping it is just a trail run and not permanant...I do not think I will make as many if it is..Maybe they can alternate monthly....take care Dave

Lucy thanks for going above and beyond for getting the meeting at First State Surgery Center. I live in NJ and it will only take me about 15-20 minutes to get there. Thanks again I will see you at the meeting! Rose Mary

I guess we can't please everyone. LOL It is not easy to find locations that are willing to open for only minimal ''donations'' and ''after hours''. Yes I know it is a tax credit for them. Since the Lap Band Support Group does have members from variety of areas including me from Southern Chester County, Pa it would be impossible to find a middle point for all. I have been a member of the Lap Band Support Group for approximately 2 years now, have had my Lap Band Surgery and completed the Obesity /Help Leader Training and have seen so many faces in and out of the meeting rooms and in the CHRIAS waiting room and also get many emails from Bansters. The comments I have heard is: the meeting time is not good for them, the day of the week is not good for them, evenings are not good , how about weekends, OK I hope you are getting the point here. Sorry I do not want to rant and rave but the Lap Band Support Group Members have done what we can to try to please everyone and if at first it is awkward and doesnt work ie:time, day of the week, location, week of the month, then we can try to make changes. Abraham Lincoln once said that you can please some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time...Well this was one such occasion! In all fairness, and I am not trying to cause any undue distress or further problems, I think the change of location should have been done more diplomatically, possibly through postings with various locations listed???????? Or possibly, one month have it down in Newark, one month in a different location? Not sure how, really, to be honest, but I really don't think there really IS "one" central location. What is convenient for some, is inconvenient for others, right? Hence, the adage above

Are u serious? Things change, sometimes good sometimes not so good. Look at us and the changes we have made. It was a struggle in the beginning but in the end it worked out.. Don't let the distance hinder you from attending the meetings. I think we all travel a lot further for a lot less. A famous big man once said (me). If I can get the help and the support I need to make me feel better, the distance that I have to travel to get it does not matter at all. LW Drip
