Does any have Medicaid?

I recently recieved Medicaid and have my appt. w/ Dr. Irgua the end of March. However, I know that they will pay for the surgery but, will I be stuck with some bills anyway? Also, if anyone had their WLS recently, how has the weight loss been?

Hi Lysa, welcome to the boards. I do not have medicaid but did have my surgery this past November 20th. I had the lap rny and am so happy I did. My current weight loss at the three month period is 55 lb. Of course this varies person to person. Good luck and Dr. Irgau is great, he is my surgeon also. Michelle

Hi Lysa, Mistee is the insurance coordinator for Chrias. She probably would be the best one to ask. She deals with the insurance companies on a daily basis. Best wishes to you! Deb

Hi Lysa, Yes I exercise 3x a week cardio and 3x a week using resistance bands. Of course it helps that we have a gym here at work so I use my lunch hour. BTW Deb had great insight on the insurance, yes call Mistee, she will be able to help you out. GOod luck and let us know how you are progressing. Michelle

Hi Lysa, I have Delaware Physician's Care/Medicaid. My surgery was October 4, 2006 and as yet, have not received a single bill except for the TV and phone in my hospital room. I think it was $10 for 2 days. As of this morning, I have lost 84 pounds. I have severe arthritis in my back and do not exercise much but walking is a big help. I had a slump for about 5 weeks where I would fluctuate by 4-6 pounds every week, but I got through that and the loss has started back up. Good Luck, and Dr. Irgau is really sweet. KathyG

Great! I saw Dr. Irgau this past week and he is awesome. I chose to have the Lapband due to me having some medical issues. I know that it will be all on my part to be successful and I am now ready. Thx ladies for all you help

lysa, i have a hmo thru medicaid in mich. and they paid for everything except the shrink visit. that cost me $250.00 good luck barb
