BC/BS of Delaware, anyone?

Hi all! Just wondering if anyone knows about their determination process - can it be done online, faxed, or does all the info have to be mailed to them? I have all my ducks in a row and will be submitting as soon as I have my consultation. Thanks!!

Hi Toby, BC/BS of DE was very, very fast. My primary insurance (Coventry) does not cover WLS so I had the surgery done under my husband's BC/BS. I had approval within 24 hours of Coventry's denial. The surgeon will submit for you when you get your surgery date. The coordinator has contacts that they deal with directly at BC/BS. Your profile says AL so you may be unaware that the local hospitals have some ducks to be lined up too. Chrisitana, where I had my surgery, requires classes and consults with their psychologist, nurse practitioner and endochrinologist. I'm not sure what the other hospitals require. Good luck.

I also have BCBS Delaware and I am playing the waiting game. I am not known for my patience. I have an IPA so I don't know what to expect. Any one out here know? Thanks. Nadine
