Hi gang, The seminar scheduled for this evening is for new patients. The room is overbooked for tonight. Chrias is scheduling a seminar monthly or even twice a month if necessary and time allows. The majority of the people attending the seminar have not had a consultation yet. They are in the learning process. It's great that post-ops want to support the docs, but depending on the amount of people attending, it may not be possible. Please call the office prior to attending. Thanks for appreciating the docs. I can tell you, the presentation is very good. We are a lucky group to have found such caring and knowledgable surgeons. Best wishes to all. Deb

Hi Deb, I saw Dr. Irgau at the hospital this am, he encouraged me to come to the meeting as soon as I've re-couperated from my surgery. He told me they will have the seminar once a month. He said it would be the 1st Wednesday of each month. Will the topics be different each month or will it be primarily to support pre-ops? Funny, I met 3 nurses on 3D that have had WLS and none of them attend any support group meetings since their surgery. It is disheartening to me that they are not following up with the nutrionist, their lab work and attend no meetings. We are so busy with our lives, too busy to stay healthy. I feel fortunate that even with my crazy schedule I have maintained my original attitude and remain focused on my goals that I set out with over 3 yrs ago. I happen to have a very addictive nature and am now addicted to my health. I pray that WLS is viewed as the 1st tool of many to attain health and happiness. I am trying to think of ways to get in some light exercise while I'm healing. Anyone up for a walk? Course I won't be able to drive for 2 wks. I'm already house bound and hating it. ((HUGS)) Elissa

David, No apology is necessary. The website was very vague where the seminar is concerned. I just didn't want everyone to show up and be disappointed when the room was filled and they realized the presentation was for new patients. You're doing extremely well with your program. Congrats to you! Elissa, The seminar is the same each month. It is a slide show explaining both surgeries. It's the same as the handouts we received in the begining process. It shows the way the stomach is sectioned off, etc. It also includes a presentation on the lap band. They do have an actual lap band to pass around for people to see. After that, it's questions and answers and guest speakers if available. The office coordinator (Caroline) is incharge of the process now. So, if anyone wants to attend or knows someone interested, have them give her a call. Hope you have a speedy recovery! Deb
