Can't seem to get in all the protein and h2o I should

I guess thats why Im tired all the time, and sort of depressed, but I just cant seem to get in the amounts of fluids and protein in, I'm eating and drinking all day, but being able to take in such small amounts, it's soooo hard---please understand, I'm not whining, but the protein drinks are awful, and the Isopure is tolerable, but after 20 oz of that stuff---yuk. My date was 12-12-06 and Im down 35 lbs.

Have you tried the Protein Hot Chocolate or Protein Oatmeal? Cream of Wheat made with 8oz milk and a scoop of Protein powder fills me for many hours. I add cheese to all soups for added protein. There are alot of protein sources out there with food choices in order for you to get your protein levels up. Popsicles or slushies are also a way to get fluids in.

I like GNC's Liquid Protein. It comes in punch and orange flavor. Haven't tried orange yet though. It is 18 gm protein for 3 tablespoons. I add it to a glass of water with some crystal light or walmart's brand of s/f juice. I usually double it for 36 gm protein that I know I am getting that much in. You may want to try that. The good thing about GNC is that if you keep the receipt and don't like thier product they will take it back with the receipt. Sandy

I use the Nectar Iced Tea protein. I mix 2 scoops in 16oz of water, then I mix it with 8oz of the crystal lite peach iced tea in a big bottle and sip on that. That counts as 46g of protein and 180 calories and 24oz of fluids. Don't worry it does get better.

I put 2 scoops of my Maximum protein (purchased from the Pennsville, NJ GNC, havent found at any other one, and it tastes just like YooHoo )into about 10 oz of water and sip it all morning, or I heat it up and make Hot CHocolate. It tastes much better to me then the Hot chocoloate that CHRIAS sells. In fact I have 2 boxes of that stuff if anyone is interested. They werent willing to take it back. Now I hear that people dont absorb more than 25 g of protein at one time, And Im not sure if its less for us with the surgery, thats why I take so long to drink my 44 g in the morning. Hoping I can absorb more of it.. The rest I get in with my food. I dont think Im at 60g but maybe more around 50. I do get my vitamins in everyday though. Im 2 1/2 months out and Ive already started losing my hair

Heather, I am so scared of losing my hair! Does it come out in clumps or just more and more in the hairbrush? I was told that at my starting weight I should be getting 90g a day-I don't know how I could do that, but I guess Ill try the stuff you recommend. I started at 344 and I'm 5 days short of 2 mos out. Im down 46 lbs. Good luck and keep your chin up.

Just seems to be more and more in the hair brush and in the drain. I hope I dont lose clumps! They never told me to increase my protein because I was bigger.. I was 311 at surgery and am 252 today. My hubby knows Im upset about my hair and just keeps telling me, at least yours will grow back. He seems to be getting a little thin on the top now too ! : )
