All right. I've been derilict in my posting but hopefully everyone has started off the new year with a bang! Don't use the cold weather as an excuse. You knew it was coming and it will be here for awhile. Week 3: 30 mile [running],255 m Spinning, Percent of Month Elapsed: 70% Percent Achieved vs. 50 Mile Goal: 60% The first week of my 30-day CONTACT Cape-MidAtantic triathalon is now complete. I have now completed 11 miles of the 26.3 running. 66 lengths of the 160 in the pool. And 100 miles of the 115 miles biking. I spent an extra hour in the pool today after my spinning class and was able to get in 30 lengths. Might finish this thing up early if I can keep up the pool work. Once this event finishes I'm scheduled to ride a two-person charity spin relay for 4 hours in Feb. DE Rob

Rob, I wish I had your energy....I have increased my gym time to 1-1/2 hours for 5 days a week finally! I found a rower that I really like. I can't get the weights past the current numbers yet. I hope to improve that next month. School starts this week so I may not be able to keep the 5 days going but at least I did 5 days. What an accomplishment for me! I do 15 miles for the week, plus 10,000 M for rowing. I don't see me doing 100 miles for awhile. Good luck with your spin relay. I am sure you will wiz right through 4 hours! Hugs and fleece blankets Debbie PS we need lots of blankets tonight. I got in from the gym and thought I was going to turn into a popsicle.

Debbie, Your doing great! The main objective is to endure. Don't worry too much about increasing the weights. Just keep those reps going and keep moving. Rowing, huh? I haven't tried that since I threw my back out years ago. Maybe that will be another opportunty after I get through the triathalon. Too many things to do. I started taking a RNR (some kind of restistance training in water) class last Saturday. It's great. You stand in front of the slide wave and run in place for as long as you can (usually less than 5 minutes) and then get swept away. You spend the rest of the hour hopping, jogging, skiing and moving around the 4 ft. pool. Your also right, it's cold around here. I got a Woolrich barn coat for Christmas that I wear around the house. Haven't been cold in awhile. Keep the faith and try and make at least three days a week (and maybe once on the weekend). Rob

Rob are all these classes included in the price per year? Okay now the big ?? How much is your gym?? Gosh I'd love to do some of their activities. Sounds like you never get bored. I am back at the gym 6 days a week. I've added 10 lbs to each of my machines. Trying to kick it up a notch. I've also increased my reps to 50. (from 40). You know I hate the bike. I did 4 miles today. My knees didn't feel too bad. Still do 40-50 laps in the pool most days. In addition to that I do pool arobics for an hour 3 days a week. WOW! I'm tired just thinking about it. But energized and happy. ((HUGS))Elissa
