CHRIAS and BC/BS

The following is the latest response I got from Blue Cross: You can see a CHRIAS doctor for post op care and the claim will be adjudicated and paid at BCBSD's usual allowable (less any copays or deductibles)and payment will be made to you since CHRIAS is not in BCBSD's network. You should anticipate that you may be balance billed by the surgeons for the difference between the charge and BCBSD's allowable. You may be expected to pay the full amount of the visit up front and wait for reimbursement from BCBSD. The Out of Network penalty will not be applied since you had the surgery prior to CHRIAS's decision to become non participating with BCBSD. Again, we appreciate the opportunity to serve you.
