Pain When Eating

Hi Everyone: Until recently I have been doing really well. Within the last week or so I have been having pain when I eat. Pain is in my chest and back...I suspect an ulcer. The real problem is that I have Blue Cross PPO. I called Chrias and made an appointment with Dr. Wynn. I was informed I had to pay. The receptionist told me that there is a doctor "in the office" who is in the network who could scope me if needed. My thought was, "well why can't I see that doctor for the consult"...she replied that I would have to see Dr. Wynn first. It doesn't make any sense to me. I would appreciate any feedback. I miss everyone. Hopefully I can get to the next meeting. Kim S

Pain is not NORMAL. Get it checked out, even if you have to go to ED or call your PCP to get a scan of some sort. I have BC/BS too and this is maddening.

Thanks Dianne for your response. I have an appointment on Wednesday at 3:40 with Dr. Wynn. I did see my PCP and he prescribed Previcid but it isn't working. I really only feel confident with Chrias. Kim S

Call BC/BS. The state insurance commissioner told me that they were accepting claims for post-op patients, but you had to call the insurance company first.
